| In that case wouldn't it be a good thing he won't likely do that with Superman? Still, I enjoyed Watchmen, however much he was a slave to the panels. |

Still, I enjoyed Watchmen, however much he was a slave to the panels. Well his slavish commitment to the source material showed he obviously held a great deal of respect for it, but as a director he should realize that adapting a story from a different medium requires a bit more interpretation. I think part of the problem was the fact that Moore and Gibbons had always been so dismissive about a movie version. I can only assume he really didn't want to turn it into something they would not approve of. |

| Moore especially given his staunch view of Watchmen only working under the comic book medium. |

For sure. The title sequence is pretty neat-o, but the Dr. Manhattan on Mars sequence is where the film delivers. - FourDot wrote:

Dude, that owl movie was a snoozefest. It's not the best of anything. |

It's better than anything Pixar's ever come up with, and certainly the best of Snyder's short filmography. I seriously doubt SUCKER PUNCH or the MAN OF STEEL movie will equal, or top it. |

| Interesting that they go for someone into her mid 30s. At least we won't have a Lois Lane that looks like a high schooler. Oh yeah, and I just remembered she made a guest appearance on Smallville ten years ago. All I can recall was that she hits a deer with her car and then eats it. |

| This cast gets more and more strange. Maybe it's just me. It feels like a film WB is rushing to make, and the cast is an odd assortment. So Amy Adams joins the cast. I adore Amy Adams, and I think she'd probably make a good Lois. As an actress she's a bit on the sweet side, but I think she could pull off a tougher metropolitan news reporter. She is a little older than Cavill, though. Only 9 years. That'll be interesting to watch. I'm not used to an older Lois/younger Clark. |

| I wonder if she'll keep the red hair. Lois in the comics at one point was a redhead, especially in the 1986 John Byrne THE MAN OF STEEL reboot. I hope they're still taking that route with this flick. |

Not after THE FIGHTER she ain't. Agreed. I thought she had a good balance between being convincingly tough and sexy. Still I wish I was in a universe where Dana Delany played Lois live action. |

Not after THE FIGHTER she ain't. That's what I've heard. I think she has the range to do it. So far we've got a strong bunch of actors. And Henry Cavill. |

And Henry Cavill. I'm hoping this is another Chris Pine situation where the lead actor turns out surprisingly well. Snyder seems to have a lot of confidence in putting Cavill next to such talent. Let's hope he lives up to it. Still it's always fun to put the phrase "TRUTH, JUSTICE AND THE AMERICAN WAY" next to this image. Looks like he's trying to mimic Daniel Craig in that CR poster. There's even the blue tint. |

Yep, I'd never in my wildest dreams have thought they'd cast a 36-year old as Lois. Heck, she's even older than ME. Which is a good thing. Maturity all the way. I still really hope Cavill measures up, but even if he doesn't the female compensations speak for themselves. It'll also be good to see Kevin Costner back in a big film again. While he was perhaps hardly God's gift to acting or anything, I always felt he had a good sincere quality to him back in the day which sits well with the Superman franchise IMO. |

| Kinda wished they'd cast an old 80s-era screen couple as Ma&Pa Kent. Maybe Costner with Patricia Clarkson.
Failing that, Carl Weathers and Vanity ... |

Failing that, Carl Weathers and Vanity ... Could always plump for Stallone and Talia Shire. Supes could have his own training montage. ;) |

Seriously though, that would be frickin' AWESOME. Every blockbuster should have one. After 90 minutes of the "origin" stuff, Supes can "bench-press" Amy Adams for three minutes, grow a beard and run up a mountain to the awesome sound of Bill Conti. 8) And the Frankster can can give us a NuRemix of "Peace In Our Time" from Rambo over the end credits to hammer home the whole "No one f***s with the United States" vibe. |
