Beyond MI6

It's gone. Don't misunderstand me, MI6 was a great place in its 2006/7 heyday, but the thing that's there now has nothing to do with it. We can make this into something worthy of MI6's memory, or it will whither and die.

But yes, I agree that we shouldn't dwell on Old MI6. At least this site has freedom of speech, more or less. The old site was a gulag by comparison. We should appreciate this forum and its potential.

That place seems to have become Puppet Member Central, judging by the reams of barely-believable random gibberish (and completely inactive) new usernames in the "activity" pages. That "Most Popular Bond Forums" tag must really mean a lot to the top brass over there.... more than actually having decent posters anyway. Shame.

I only check the news page sometimes, not that news is exclusive to MI6 by any means.

Agreed. I do hope BaB begins picking up some new blood, though. We've been stuck on 80-82 for eons, no pun intended.

This is a good idea. Any facebookers out there that can handle the place? Better young people who aren't afraid of being stalked by people from their past.
I avoid the place like the plague. Haven't posted a status update in eons. I joined in 2008 and was appalled at the friend requests I was getting. People I barely knew. Friend requests from women of any age are most welcome of course. I like talking to women about anything but some of the guys from past work or wherever sufacing was really annoying. Anyway the place terrifies me. I log on occasionally to check out the weekend party pictures from the girls at work who all seem to have 1000 friends and don't care who checks out their weekend partying. Bless them. Gives me something to razz them about.

But this is a great idea for anyone that's FB friendly to try out. Link away!

I'd link to FB, but I'm not sure any of my friends/"friends" are hardcore Bondheads. Could prove pretty useless.

Probably the best thing to do would be for someone to just go on the most viewed Bond board/wall/blog/whatever on Facebook, comment about how good this place is and stick a link there. Same with stuff like Twitter. May as well go global, as any mess from spammers/trolls can always be cleaned up by mods/admins, and it's worth it if it brings in a few good new members.

I have to say I'm liking the new layout logo and colours. Very easy on the eyes.

Given that there's no shortage of insiped Bond Girls down the years of any race and creed, automatically tieing her with Halle Berry and Gloria Hendry was hardly an inspired attempt at fair and equal commentary about what she could bring to a Bond film.

Whatever you might think of his insightful commentary he is entitled to frame his commentary as he sees fit. It's his commentary -inspired or not, but suggesting racism, or rather "borderline" racism was pretty :drunken: low blow. No wonder he went ballistic.

Personally I think he's more guilty of being a general tool than a racist - but that said, as mods better they got in early before he ended up digging a hole for himself, even if he took it as a great offense.

How long before he posts 'Here's who should be the next Bond Girl!!!!' in SHOUTY RED CAPITALS followed by 500 pictures of Kelly Brook in that thread, I wonder?
