Hell, I'd be happy with the SD release at least getting its own INDEPENDANT release rather than having to buy the $80 Ultra Blu-Ray Set of Kane from Amazon or whatever it was.

Foreign Correspondent by Hitchcock. Always a pleasure to see mr. George Sanders at work. But I had to laugh when he came to Amsterdam (Netherlands), the language is not always Dutch, but German and something not understandable. Very dated movie but one I had yet to see it was lounging among my Hitchcocks unseen.

Cameraman: The Life and Work of Jack Cardiff
Insightful documentary covering the career of one of cinema's finest. I want to read his biography; looks like it's pretty expensive, though.
Our cable got fucked up, so I couldn't tune in or even record it. :x
The Beguiled (1971)
I really liked this one, it's right up my alley. Good cast. You don't get to see Geraldine Page often enough in films. I really, really, really liked Elizabeth Hartman. She's got a rare fragilty, like Sandy Dennis. It's a rare quality that I love to see in an actress. Pity she killed herself, as I learned when I looked her up. But I wanna see A PATCH OF BLUE now, even if it sounds like a sappy film.

Everyone please feel free to head over to the mammaries game. There's a great final-20 underway, featuring many of your favourite twin-inflatables and the fine-figures of womanhood that they are attached to.

in a moment, perhaps
The Cruel Sea
a fairly intense and accurate portrayal of life aboard ship in the war. Following the officers and men, initially, of the Compass Rose from 1940 through the Atlantic, Gibraltar and Arctic Convoys to her sinking then briefly for the final third, HMS Saltash Castle. Jack Hawkins is impeccable as the sometimes broken captain who has it all to contend with. One of the finer moments is when he orders the ship to steam through survivors in the water where an U-Boat is believed to be sheltering. Depth charging the area thus killing the men Hawkins is wide-eyed with horror. The fine scene comes with the merchantmen he rescued on this convoy sitting with him saying he couldn't have done anything else (amongst them Norman Wisdom's straight man, Jerry Desmonde). Donald Sinden not too bad as Hawkins' number one and provided with the hint of a love story with the ravishing Virginia McKenna which is as close to Sinden gets as this films Leslie Phillips. Honourable mention to Denholm Elliot with his straying wife tormenting him as he drifts in the wreckage of Compass Rose and to Bruce Seton's Coxswain.
Dare say the first film this year to gain the much sought after 5/5

THE EIGER SANCTION
It's not a very good film, but I love it anyway. It was always a family favourite since my dad was one of the stunt climbers in it, but watching it now, I ask what the ***** were my parents thinking?
Underrated John Williams score though.

Play Misty for Me (1971)
A really damn impressive directing debut for Eastwood. This movie is creepy as shit, but it's also got a really cool relaxed sense at the same time. Eastwood and Jessica Walter are both superb. I will never look at Lucille Bluth the same way again. She really nails this. What she feels isn't love, it's an expression of hostility. Clint's just the poor bastard this total batshit fucking psycho has clung to. At least that's my reading of it. Clint says it himself, "You don't know what love is." Or words to that effect.
Donna Mills is bangin' here.
Yeah, a really damn fine movie this. I'd put it with THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES and UNFORGIVEN as one of my favorite Eastwood-directed movies.
Oh yeah.
Spoiler:
I kinda wanted to laugh when Clint finally punches Evelyn in the face and she flies out a window, off a cliff, and into the sea. What a way to go.
EDIT ADDON: I like 1971. I dig the fashions and decor. Sue me.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
Solid film by Fincher overall, but it's no SE7EN. Solid cast, I liked seeing Berkoff again in a flick. Roony Mara OWNS this flick. Craig and Mara play off eachother real well, besides the sex scenes.
Friends with Benefits (2011)
Look, more sex scenes. Pretty fun for a Hollywood romcom. Were those shots of Kunis' ass really her though or a double? Would be a shame knowing I couldn't see her naked but instead I got to see Timberlake's ass. j7wild must know the real scoop. Oh yeah, and that Timberlake guy, I'm liking him as an actor, especially after THE SOCIAL NETWORK. Should stick with that and give up music, from the looks of it he already has. Surprised by the cast this flick had too, it was a joy to see Richard Jenkins as I didn't know he was in it.

I always prefered Jackie on THAT 70's SHOW to Donna.
Speaking of body doubles. MP, check out De Palma's BODY DOUBLE if you haven't.

If you enjoyed Friends with Benefits, you must then also watch Love and Other Drugs with Anne Hathaway and No Strings Attached with Natalie Portman and What's Your Number with Anna Faris.
These 4 films are similar to each other and I had to watch them because my Wife wanted to watch them.
Good thing I don't have to pay to rent them!!

Yeah, I'm aware of them but not that interested in seeing them. I take romcom Hollywood stuff on small doses and from what I hear Friends with Benefits is really the best of the names you brought up and I consider it a C+ at best.

Morning Departure
relatively tense film where John Mills' submarine strikes a magnetic mine and goes down. Amongst the stranded are Richard Attenborough (with kind permission by the Boulting Brothers), Nigel Patrick and George Cole. Stiff upper lip stuff in the wake of the then recent loss of HMS Truculent in the Thames Estuary. On top Bernard Lee oversees the fated salvage, briefly helped by Kenneth More as his adj in an 'unknown' role really. Zena Marshall briefly appears as a Wren.

Metropolis
The film that got me into silent films. It helps that the original score is dynamic and powerful. Miles better than the droning house music that backs a lot of bad silent film transfers. Speaking of music:
Giorgio Moroder's Metropolis
Well, that was odd. An interesting curio, but not a restoration. It would be like if Kanye West tried to restore the Director's Cut of Blade Runner, yet changed minor plot details and rescored the film himself.

I haven't seen the new one yet but the old one is one of my favorites (Together with the 2 Nibelungen movies)

Joe Kidd (1972)
The direction is so flat that it pretty much sinks the whole thing for me. Eastwood and Duvall are good, though.
