Alicia Silverstone in DAD?

According to IMDB, Alicia was in competition to play Gala Brand (I refuse to call that character M****** F****) , as was Sophie Ellis Bextor and Saffron Burrows.

I have no idea who SEB is, but Saffron Burrows I know from DEEP BLUE SEA, and I can at least see how those two might have auditioned for the role since they're both British, but Alicia Silverstone? I guess, assuming this rumor is true, she would have been 25 around the time of the DAD audition, so it's plausible; certainly makes more sense than Saffron Burrows, who at 30 would've been a bit too old for the role. But Silverstone? Can she pull off a British accent?

I've never heard this rumor before.

She was recently a recurring detective on Law and Order Criminal Intent and also in the movie The Bank Job with Jason Statham.

Werid, yes, but the film makes it pretty clear that they are only related by way of their parents' marriage.

It's probably some radical, loony, extreme-left-leaning activist actress who is always going in front of cameras to whinge on and on about people facing racial, gender, sexual orientation, and age discrimination, but then cowers in fear of having to actually fight her own age discrimination battles. Truth is, she's probably a fat chick who wasn't getting hired for romantical rolls anyway, and is just jellus.
