L.A. arson wave grows to about 40 fires

Not sure if the '92 riots serves as an appropriate baseline for these current fires, but we'll see.

Based upon the interactive map on the LA Times' website, it appears that nice, high-end neighborhoods are being targeted for arson. I'm not accusing....just asking...is it possible that the fires are being spread by Occupy Wall Street sympathizers or splinter groups? I know I'm not the only one wondering such a scenario based upon the comments I'm reading on the LA Times website.

I lived in Los Angeles (Longbeach) for 1 1/2 years when I was in my early 20s.

That's a strange city then and now, it's even stranger!
