Agreed. Tanaka's the slickest Bond ally of them all. YOLT was the film that turned me as a child into the Bond fan I am today and with his gadgets, weapons, private train, ninja allies and beautiful geisha girls, Tiger seemed like the coolest buddy to have come along for an adventure.

^ And Bond spent a heck of a lot of time with Tiger in the film, moreso than any other Bond ally, and all the way to the climactic grand finale.

Indeed. Bond films should never be "buddy" films like Lethal Weapon or Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid but Tanaka comes the closest to being a worthy business partner for 007.

Of course! It's J.W. Pepper, Louisiana State Poleeze! He does everything possible to help that English secret agent from England. It's a wasted opportunity that EON never made that proposed spinoff film J.W. Pepper: Layman on the Bayou. ;)

He was a real inspiration to Rog Bond and made two appearances - more than any other Rog Bond ally. He's a patriotic American. Salt of the earth. Law enforcement needs good men like Sheriff JW Pepper.

My second choice for best Rog Bond ally would be Melina's parrot.

Rog I have trouble taking seriously as a dangerous double O danger man ( He fights in slow motion) so I lean towards his more comic allies such as Pepper and the parrot.

You were on thin ice with me when it comes to Kara and Dalts. Happily enough, you more than redeem yourself in my eyes with your passion and enthusiasm for the classic 1962-1974 period of Bond, Catherina von Schell, Holly Goodhead's voice, the Flint pics, and your brilliant ideas for a Tiffany Case spinoff series. ;)

I'll never forget this one: tiffanywint a.k.a. timmer presents Jill St. John as Ian Fleming's Tiffany Case in the all time classic "Blow Up Your Pants!"

Ahhhh Memories.
One of the great ironies of DAF is when Blofeld says about Tiffany Case, " such nice cheeks, if only they were brains". Ironic when you consider that Jill St John has a very brainy IQ level of 162, and Tiff wasn't exactly dumb in DAF either. I guess in Blofeld's world though, no-one is as smart as he is.

btw Maybe you and LaLa, can start a Dalts and Kara, greatest love of all time thread and link to cheesy 80's love ballads. tongue

Indeed. Miss St. John is very smart. She came off as the most intelligent of all the Bond girl actresses in her interview on Maryam d'Abo's 2002 Bond Girls Are Forever documentary.

I can only imagine how intellectually fascinating their conversations were on their dates back when she and Nixon's Secretary of State were an item.

tiffanywint wrote:

Yep. Blofeld's so smart he never shoots Bond but "imprisons" him in cable car control rooms and underneath an oil rig with a handy escape hatch. :?: No wonder Mike Myers had so much fun bringing this little character aspect up as "Dr. Evil".

OK. How about a montage of Bond and Kara against a backdrop of "Love Lift Us Up Where We Belong?" ;)
