PostSubject: Member Interview Series - Loomis   Member Interview Series - Loomis EmptyTue Mar 15, 2011 4:43 am

As you may or may not know, I oversaw a series of Fan Fiction Interviews
at MI6. It ran for 8 years and produced 27 interviews by 5 different
interviewers. With the fall of MI6, I will be revamping the entire
concept. This new forum will provide us with a fresh start, a chance to
"re-boot" and clean the slate. Therefore, this will not be interview
#28, but will be interview #1.

I vaguely remember there was a series of interviews with members in the Martini Lounge and General Lounge about a variety of topics. I would like to morph my old series to include not just fan fiction, but these entire forums and and all subjects. I think it would be a great way to introduce all the new members.

I don't remember who was in charge of the old thread at MI6. Does anyone know? If they plan on bringing it back, I don't want to step on their toes and steal their idea. If they want to bring it back on their own, I'll stick to fan fiction. However, if they are not here or give it their blessing, I would like to do this.

The first thing is that its name will no longer be the MI6 Interview Fan
Fiction Series, obviously. "Beyond" will be a series of programs that, like its
name, will go beyond the stories and the posts and help us get to know each member better, as well as their love for James Bond.

We will be looking into new ideas: perhaps audio interviews? And text
transcripts for those who don't want to listen. Give the people some
variety.

The series will start up shortly, I hope.

Like the old series, I will not be conducting the interviews, just
directing/guiding/editing the series, the same role I held in the past.
As the entire series is being revamped, it means that the most recent
interviewer BritishChap will be replaced.

Therefore, we will need someone to take over the role of interviewing people. If there is
anybody interested, please let me know. We will try to do a few a year,
but even if you want to do one, that is fine.

Get in touch with me or post below if you are interested.

The interview series for members was called "Behind the Avatars" -- benny created it, I gave it its title and was a big supporter (but was never interviewed) and kitty was the interviewer. It was mainly a way to get to know the forum members more in depth, and kitty always did a great job of researching the member's past posts and history (impossible now).

Well, I guess that would mean I should ask for your approval and kitty's as benny is not here (at least not that I know of).

I would stick with fan projects, but as a new community I think sticking to the whole board and a variety of fields is a better option.

Fairbairn... There was also a FanFic one...

I'd be happy to help out... but couldn't commit to an ongoing commitment at this time... It might work out if the person interviewed is the next interviewer, if they are up for it.... The process would stay fresh that way and it would be an opportunity for everyone to try something new. It's nerve-wracking but exhilarating too,.

That'd be cool.

True, I'll have to think about it. I wouldn't mind sticking to Fan Fiction, but with the site being rebuilt who knows how soon that will be up. I was hoping to get on it right away, figured it would be a good jump start to the section.

Have to think this one over. Just thought I'd toss around some ideas and see what the reaction to it would be.

I'm happy to help out - though I am rather busy. I think the method of passing along who interviews who is a good concept - unless someone is happy to take full control.

Lol, true true. I need my FaceBook dosage.

I'm happy to help in the holidays though and on weekends.

I got a little caught up in the new site. I think I have a paper due on American hegemony and foreign policy tomorrow morning. I haven't written it. Keeping my fingers crossed the professor meant Thursday. laugh

I'll take part (in terms of being interviewed ;) ), and help out with interviews and organisation during holidays if needs be. :)

But I do like the concept of interviewee = interviewer on the next person.

I remember FS and I wasted so much time spamming the Trek thread that by the time it was past midnight one of us would realize we still had paper due. It was always like that for awhile. laugh

Yeah, I never had the problem until recently. Now I keep doing it. I really need to get my S*** together. I'm getting tired of churning out papers at odd hours of the day. Last time I did a paper from 1 to 4:30 a.m. laugh Oops.

I've never been interviewed. Then again, I'd probably tell lots of lies to make myself sound far more interesting than I really am ;)

I like to maintain an air of mystery ;)

The last guy to be interviewed in my stint at MI6 was M007RE. He brought Retro to her knees by evading questions and insisting on answering in Russian. :D

I think both Rave and Opps would be real interesting interviewees.

I think Khanners would be the perfect interviewer.

I like the idea of the interviewee becoming the interviewer and so on.
