I'm basically an incurable romantic, so occasionally I'll see a chick flick I actually like.
Two favs are probably Crossing Delancey and Shadowlands.

Love Actually is on after Top Gear. I quite enjoy that one so I'll be watching that tonight.

I love Amelie. I also have a weakness for silly Russian and French romantic comedies of the 1960s-1970s.

The last third of SHADOWLANDS gets me every time. Anthony Hopkins' finest hour, and George Fenton knocked it out of the park.

It's nothing special, but I found myself by chance watching that horrendously titled "Morning Glory" film with Rachel McAdams, Diane Keaton and Harrison Ford a couple of months back, which was a lot better than I expected.
I liked the version of 'Pretty Woman' that ended with him throwing the money out the car and driving off after she refused the money or something

I got through all of BOY ON THE SIDE and the thing with Natalie Portman as an unwed mother.
Does THE AGE OF INNOCENCE count as a chick flick?

I've had a few girls make me watch them. I remember actually being pleasantly surprised at one of them as it was actually somewhat enjoyable.
Although, I guess I can say it wasn't too impressive considering I can't remember who was in it or what it was called. To be fair, the girl had a nice rack. It was kind of hard to pay attention to details.

I don't mind chick-flicks so much, but anything with Meryl Streep absolutely terrifies me.
My recent blu-ray viewing of Mama Mia only confirmed my paranoia. That and Brozzer's singing.
But I can't think of any chick flicks that I actually really liked much. Many are just watchable.

I agree!
I am still suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Syndrome incurred over the years from being dragged to see her movies:
Sophie's Choice Out of Africa The Bridges of Madison County Heartburn Defending Your Life The Devil Wears Prada
Is there a woman born that doesn't like Meryl Streep for crying out loud and the Love of Humanity!!

My first exposure to Streep was Kramer Vs Kramer.
Downhill ever since. I have though, managed to duck seeing most of her films since.
I only watched Mama Mia because I like Abba and I was curious to see what Brozzer did with his role. Actually as bad as he was, I think he was the "best" of the male singers, which isn't saying much.
Mama Mia btw is the ultimate chick flick. Written, produced, directed, you name it, by women, not to mention an actress-dominated cast.
Its is quite watchable in parts though and is beautifully shot, but there are plenty of real seat-squirming segments, mostly featuring La Streep.

Fatal Attraction is kind of romantic. I always feel like snuggling up to Michael Douglas after that one.

Santa's worth a bag of chips, Sharky, believe you me. If you really want to impress her then throw in an extra sachet of OK sauce as well.
A pickled onion would be just showing off, though.
