Came across these, how dandy. Anyone know what feedback was like back in 1973? Bond is an equal-opportunity shagger but Rosie will always be a fucking embarassment to the CIA and your typical bubble-head Bond girl.

LALD was a huge box-office hit. It went over big. I don't think Rog had much to do with it though, although he was well known from the Saint and Persuaders. I think it was perceived as a solid continuation of the Bond formula. I know it was popular with us kids. I saw it opening day matinee in theatre. It was my first new-release Bond. I probably saw it at least 5-6 more times on both single-release and double bills with TMWTGG. We couldn't get enough of it; Sheriff Pepper, the chases, the costumes, the crazy villains, the lair, the music. The girls were better in the next one though, Golden Gun, which hit theatres a year and a half later. I rember being enthralled with both Adams and Ekland - to this day my favourite Bond-girl one-two punch.

Plus we knew David Hedison from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea re-runs.

Rosie, was yes kind of annoying. Solitaire wasn't very interesting either. I remember being fascinated by the crocs. No matter how many times I saw the film, I was so relieved when Rog managed to get off that croc island. Whew. Hi-lite of the movie though was the boat-chase. We'd go bananas at the featured boat jump scene.

Bond had no rivals in 1973. There was nothing else like it in cinema. Rog got the job done. We were happy!

Like that heading, Dog. 'Roger's Tit's' may well be the preferred title of my novel, so far 25 years in the writing.

IMO Worst Bond Film ever!!

I remember someone (possibly unkindly) saying of the bed scene with Magda in Octopussy 'When your leading man's chest is bigger than the lady's that he's in bed with, it may be time to re-cast'.

At least Roger got them into bed. Craig doesn't know the meaning of Rogering.

There's a potential 3 in Skyfall.

And I'm not including Dench in that.

Thing is Craig-Bond gives the impression that he'd genuinely consider the Human Rights and how any shagged female might feel afterwards before unzipping. Decide against it and go back and have another white wine spritzer. Even with all the "I only fuck married women" crap in CR.

Well, while I do feel Craig-Bond has been neutered (gym sessions and tight fitting trunks do not a man make, and there might be something in Craig himself further which doesn't convince as a ladies man), there is much that salvages Craig-Bond and his films, IMO.

I reserve plucking my eyes out for Rog's films. Fun, and he seems a nice, if rather fortunate, man. But Fleming-Bond, or remotely close, he isn't. Need a good deal of booze onboard to get through any of 'em.

4? Vesper and Fields are the only 'confirmed' lays in Craig's movies.
