| Just noticed we've got a thread for drink, smoking, and cloths, but not food.
What are your favourite meals you couldn't live without?
What have you got planned for this evening?
What foods can't you stand?

| Tonight will be grilled orange roughy in an ancho adobo sauce accompanied by roast asparagus and red and green bell peppers.
As for my favorite meals...bloody hell, there are too many to mention. To simplify, my favorite cuisines, in no particular order, are Indian, American, Mexican and Italian. They are entirely equal in my pecking order.
Foods that I despise, avoid or reject altogether include a great many fruits, organ meats and shellfish. And I'm not very keen on Japanese cuisine, in general. |

| I am a meat and potatoes man.
My favorite food and I can eat it every day but my wife won't let me is a nice steak: t-bone or porterhouse or filet mignon or top sirloin or NY strip, I like them all, cooked medium rare bordering on still mooooooing. Complimented by a baked potato over-loaded with sour cream, real butter, shredded cheddar cheese, chives and big chunks of real bacon.
I am not sure what we are eating tonight.
Foods that I can't stand are liver and onion, Brussels Sprouts and corned beef & cabbage. |

| My favorite steak is a NY strip, seasoned with salt and pepper, cooked medium-rare, and topped with a compound butter made of, well, butter, lemon zest, pepper and fresh thyme. As with any serious steak, I've got to have a bottle of zinfandel to go with it. |

| I prefer a robust Italian Valpolicella wine to go with my red meat.
;)
We are having baked salmon and steamed asparagus and green beans and rice for dinner tonight.
Yuck! |

| In my campus years, I surprised my more affluent friends by working part time in a restaurant. It wasn't for the money, I got an opportunity to expand on my culinary skills. I love to not only cook, but get complimented for what I cook. My daughter is only 5 but already knows how make and bake cookies and several varieties of cake, a salad,...and how to season meat for a BBQ.
Personal favourites....spicy indian food, chinese and italian. |

| I'm disappointed in those of you who prefer your steak medium-rare. Anything past rare is a waste of good meat. |

| We have a specialty deli store owned by a NY family that make a mean rosemary roast beef daily.
They sliced it up and sell by the OZ and you take it home and make sandwiches.
Soooooo freaking good.
Just the right amount of rareness and it's so tender! |

I had something like this tonight. A NY strip, baked potato with sour cream, mushrooms, and some vegetables. Fucking delicious. Now it's Dos Equis for the rest of the night. |

| I like Kentucky Fried Chicken or in the modern parlance KFC. Finger lickin' good!
A big sloppy burger with all sorts of junk piled on it, is great too! |

| I went to this little Italian restaurant here that's been in business for 22 years.
I ordered the seafood linguini:
OMG!
These big bowl of linguini with fresh mussels and clams (still in their shells) and big prawns and crab meat on top of it.
There were at least a dozen mussels and another dozen clams just lining up the side of the bowl in a big circle.
Oh I should had taken a photo!! |

| That linguini is so good, I can eat that everyday.
It had fresh mussels and clams and scallops and prawns and crab meat.
My wife had the Veal Piccata; Veal in a light buttery lemony caper sauce.
I forgot to take a photo of it....
:(
They also have a Veal Marsala and a Fettucini Carbonara (Heavy Cream and Egg Yoke and Prosciutto sauce) there; I saw it being served to the table next to us and it looked so yummy.
The restaurant doesn't serve alcohol but if you bring your own bottle of wine or champagne, they will open it and provide the wine glasses for $5.
We will be going back there again! |

I can already picture all of the fat barbarians who pull up to the drive-thru and order three of those things all for themselves. |

| I love chicken vindaloo, really damn spicy. I love, love, love, love, love Indian food. Or curry, whatever you want to call it. Mexican food as well, or Tex-Mex. I love strips of steak with lots of Tapatio hot sauce. When I get back to LA, the first place I'm going to is Poquito Mas. If you're ever in LA, go there. Go to the one in Burbank, it's heaven: http://www.poquitomas.com/burbank.php I also like Chinese. Love Kung Pao chicken, and I love those chili peppers that come in it. I could eat a million of them. I could 'em like potato chips. Damn, I wish I had some right now. Things I don't like. -Cheese. I hate cheese. -Not big on eggs. -Cole Slaw. -Sauerkraut. |

+1 Nothing like liberally sauced butter chicken with fresh naan bread. |
