| General alcohol thread for those who generally drink alcohol.
So far in my first legal year of intoxication, I've had a flat Vesper (not as bitter or strong as Flemings, but still a knock out drink), Red Wine, and a lot of beers ranging from strong to weak sauce. |

| If I'm drinking alone, I'll pick up some Guinness Original or Dos Equis. If I'm out, I usually order some kind of mixed drink. I really don't care much for wine or cheap beer. Whenever I'd go to a party with friends, I'd see what beer was being offered. Usually it was Bud Light, Keystone Light, or Milwaukee's Best. And in that case, I'd leave. |

| I told Tux I wanted a few booze threads since it's such a great topic and part of a lot of movies and the lifestyle we all enjoy...
I will start a recipe and ingredient thread later today after I choose the opening recipe. That way we can build a catalog of recipes and ideas but have this place to discuss the experiences.
I think hangover recipes can be contained in the cocktail thread (I know, cruel, right?) and I'll put that in the description of the thread.

| I love Canadian beer ( Molson and Labatt Blue) and my favorite american beer is Yuengling. I also prefer Jack Daniels Whiskey. |

Ever tried Molson Brador, WW? |

| It's pretty good. And potent.
Only available in Canada, though, last I checked. I have a cousin who brings it down from time to time whenever he visits there. |

Well, not true anymore. I've been drinking since PAINFACEbook. |

| I used to be a loyal consumer of 100 proof Smirnoff, but I've since moved on to beer, and yes ... Four Loko. Cheap and effective. That's all that really matters. |

I thought that got taken off the market....Or is that a state by state thing? |

I thought that got taken off the market....Or is that a state by state thing? They took the caffeine and stuff out but left the other ingredients the same. The difference now is you'll actually feel as if you drank six beers, instead of feeling like you just drank six beers but are more awake than you were before you started drinking. |

| Bourbon/whiskey are my usual poisons of choice. I usually don't worry about being picky with brands and I'll take whatever a pub/club/bar has got to offer. I'm a very accomodating alcoholic.
On another note, I've noticed that I've started losing my taste for beer, or at least the usual stock beer they have in pubs (Carlton Draught, Tooheys - I'm not even gonna mention that piss in a cup known as VB) and now I can only enjoy those fancy shmancy German beers they have at places like Bavarian Bier Cafe. I hope I'm not at risk of becoming a poncy wanker. |

We have one called Bavarian Bierhaus here, few of them. Lovely choice of beers, too expensive though. Not much choices here, they have local Jaz Beer (equals to your 'piss in a cup' beer, I guess), Singaporean Tiger beer which I loath, so I'd ussually settle for Carlsberg (used a very modest ad tagline 'probably the best beer in the world'), or for a few dollars more Heinie. |

I hope I'm not at risk of becoming a poncy wanker. Nah, it's just called getting old, mate. ;) I'm the same. Really fussy over what I drink now and bored of so much of the ale out there, as I've practically ran the gamut for the last 20 years, not to mention my seemingly complete inability to get drunk, which I absolutely hate as there have been so many times recently where I've just wanted to get completely and utterly smashed. I must have been about 18 when I last got properly drunk, and it p*sses me off. Maybe that cocktail thread can come up with something. :D |

Occasionally, you'll get lucky and hit some Yuengling. That is tolerable. The other stuff I tend to pass on. |

| Lazenby.... if you are picky about beers you have to come to Vancouver. We have many bars/restaurants that serve a selection of fine micro brewed beers. Last night we were at the Alibi Room and there were four of us. None of our beers were under 7% but all were amazingly made and smooth. Daniel had an 11% beer that was divine. I had my new favourite, Crannog Hand Truck Porter. Even the guy at the table who didn't like porters loved this one.
(As for knock-you-on-your-ass cocktails... I do have a few to share. And panty-remover cocktails for the girls!) |

| St Paddy's day today - so no posts from me after this one. Off to test some of the black stuff - get my annual silly hat, then revert back to a decent beer in the hope my tastebuds haven't deserted me... |

Because I'm too cheap to buy crack. |
