I voted GF, the ultimate Bond title sequence. The visual montage is nice but the song sets up the film in a fashion no other Bond title comes close too IMO.
It's pure vintage thrilling Bond and then the segue into Miami. Marvelous. Bond does not get any better than this.
In the spirit of GF, I nominate DAF and TMWTGG a very strong 2nd and third
After that YOLT in 4th, TB 5th, LALD 6th, MR 7th and the invigorating OHMSS instrumental and titles 8th.
This is my Elite 8.
I do like the QoS titles but not the song.

I don't understand the affection for TMWTGG. It's listless and rather unimaginative, particularly in comparison to some of the sequences that came before.

Thank you Khan.
TMWTGG does feature some of Binders best nude work. In fact he outdoes himself. The old reprobate must have had a hoot putting this montage together. The full-on raging nude dance at the 1:40 mark, just as Binder's name flashes on screen, is unmatched in all of Bond titledom. The lyrics are rife with sexual double entendres starting with Lulu's opening bellow: HE HAS A POWERFUL WEAPON!!!!! It takes off from there. It's a like roller coaster ride, you don't want to get off.
Usually when I watch Gun, I watch the titles a couple of extra times at mega volume, before settling into the film, one of my favourites in the Bond "benign bizarre" collection

Tut tut now, dear Sharky. When it comes to obscurity and nuance, the following lines are right up there with Rilke!
His eye may be on you or me. Who will he bang? We shall see. Oh yeah!

Khan, you're making me want to dig out my "The Best of Bond, James Bond" cd and blast the Lulu Golden Gun theme. Oh yeah!

WOW! I thought that I was the only one he actually liked the TMWTGG theme song. It may be as camp as hell but it also by far the most catchy and certainly one of the most fun songs of the series.

The problem with the song is Lulu. That bitch doesn't sing, she shouts.

Yes, it's pure Bond gold. :bounce: A swinging song if there ever was one. If you want to razz your GF or wife, ask if she'd mind dancing along .

The brilliance of Lulu. Takes practically a whole orchestra to replicate her vocals. A sax, a horn, what sounded like a clarinet, another horn, maybe a flute too.....
That rendition does have a nice swing beat.

must watch this all the way through. So glad Alice Cooper's version of Golden Gun was rejected. Alice can't believe it. Please. The song ended up as padding on his Muscle Of Love album, which was a good place for it.
Here's another Lulu film classic

For a more accurate replication of Lulu's voice, a kazoo would be a better.
Listening to it, it sounds like a tenor sax, trumpet w/plunger and flute.

It's the same 12/8 groove as the original.

Yes they do sound quite similar. I approve both versions. Although the Lulu version goes much better with Binder's nude dancing.

.... actually, ask if she'd mind dancing along nude. If she agrees, she's a keeper. Amore.

I have Alice Cooper's 'Muscle of Love' album, and I've heard his MWTGG attempt.
I like Barry/Black/ Lulu's better. Get over yourself, Vince.
