Oh, thanks for the info. The song includes Bond theme, and I read (fake) rumors, so I thought it was written for Bond.
I just pulled this from Wikipedia:
Quote :
"The Living Tree" was written by Catherine Feeney and Nikki Lamborn from Never the Bride, who recorded the song for their 2002 album Surprise. It was a Top 40 hit for Shirley Bassey in 2007. Nikki Lamborn and Catherine Feeney personally requested Bassey to record the song; they had left a copy of their recording at her gym in Monaco with a note saying they knew it was a song for her.
I noticed the song uses a portion of the Bond theme, too. Perhaps Feeney and Lamborn wrote the song and afterwards noticed that it quoted the Bond theme, and then thought of giving it to Bassey. Just speculation, but stranger things have happened.

At the 2013 Other Voices festival, David Arnold performed No Good About Goodbye, reharmonised with different chords.

For some reason this song has recently grown on me. I think the first time I heard it it was a sped-up version and it didn't work for me. But the slower version seems to hit the right notes.
As a staunch defender of Jack White and Alicia Key's work, Another Way To Die ranks among my Top 5 Favorite Title/Theme Songs, but I not only would have been okay with this song, I would have been okay with Shirley Bassey singing it, even though I've been against bringing her back in the past. Not only do I like the song, I think it could have even been a commercial hit despite her age and the age of today's target demo.
It continues David Arnold's fascination with musical influences from the 60's, but when it works, it works, and I wouldn't have complained if this was used.
