Never heard of him, but he was very cool for doing both. A part of me would love to study cosmology and biology, but like Lee Marvin I haven't got the time.

I guess he's a name known to a select few hereabouts and out there but best remembered as Watson to Jeremy Brett's Holmes. RIP

Thought he was great in that show, and I've seen him in The Day Of The Jackal, The Black Windmill, Elizabeth and Polanski's Oliver Twist, albeit he had small roles.

And here I was thinking you were going to pay tribute to Bill Hunter.

THE MAN FROM HONG KONG, MAD DOG MORGAN, NEWSFRONT, GALLIPOLI, HEATWAVE (though I dont recall him in it), STRICTLY BALLROOM, MURIEL'S WEDDING, PRISCILLA and every other Aussie film you've ever seen. And IMDB hasnt even registered that he's died yet.

thanks PKK. Went through a Richard Jordan phase and then decided to keep the cult status of Logan's going.

-as for Falk, he did an awfully decent turn on one of Dean Martin's roasts.

Sad news ... there can't be many of us who haven't whiled away a wet weekend afternoon with a Columbo on the telly at least once.

Very sad news. Always enjoy the odd Columbo episode on the box now and then, usually on Sunday afternoons with the roast dinner. Columbo is quite possibly the definitive detective, thanks to Falk.

Sad news indeed. His Trek work wasn't too shabby if I do say so and the Perry Mason theme I believe was sublime. A good innings though, RIP.

Read about that today. Shame. He appeared in quite a few great films.

Rest in peace.
