totally convincing wildlife CG ((NOT from Life of Pi)

I'm usually not all that convinced with attempts to duplicate nature with digital, but these tests from the upcoming KON TIKI blew my mind completely.

Wow, that's some excellent work.

Wow, that's incredible. I always prefer practical as much as possible, but if CG keeps moving further towards that then I'm all for it when done right.

Seeing CG sharks abused and badly animated got me to make one post...

I'm not impressed. These squalus are far too rubbery and fast, especially out of water. The jump at 01:53 looked completely fake. Same goes for the bite at 03:12. No real sense of rigidity or weight, Almost as if they have no skeleton.

I suggest the animators go swimming with the real thing.
