| How well was your cinema packed to see Skyfall?
UK weekend predictions are already in excess of £20m, 33% up from Solace (QoS did closer to £15.4m), with mentions of many cinemas squeezing in extra morning shows to cope with demand, including the BFI IMAX on London’s South Bank, which has a 9am showing today and an 8.30am performance tomorrow.
Edited, cuz I forgot Skyfall opened in some other Euro countries early.

| Skyfall 3pm today, I think. If I don't force myself to fit it into my schedule at that point today, I'd probably end up letting it slip by altogether. I truly hope that Babs, her luvvie friends and her imbecile writers can somehow come up with a miracle and deliver a great film. Because my utter lack of faith and trust in nu-EON has somehow reached the level now where going to see a Bond film feels like an expensive chore which I have to fit in around other commitments, an obligation not to break a tradition which for me goes all the way back to 1981. Other obstacles are proving equally testing: Odeon want more than 9 quid off me to see this film... and that's not even the IMAX version. By comparison, you could get pretty much the same film by picking up TWINE for two quid from Cash Converters.
Shit, I've just read a review which states that Javier Bardem takes more than an hour turning up in Skyfall. What a fucking waste. Him, the score and Daniel Craig are the only three reasons I won't be spending this afternoon watching Moonraker.
Has anybody even heard whether Skyfall has a plot yet? Because so far it just looks like "Bond sulks and drinks for an hour, Bardem goes after M for the other hour (because IT'S PERSONAL, of course). Beyond the re-intro of Q and MP and the fate of Bond's mother, is there any real plot to speak of?
Somebody, somewhere, give me some honest hope for this film. |

| Apparently Odeon have Skyfall showing on DOUBLE the amount of screens of the last Harry Potter film. |

| Was rather packed for a morning viewing. They had all the Bond themes playing before they started the ads, I walked in during the middle of Moonraker. I gotta say, it was pretty special. |

Somebody, somewhere, give me some honest hope for this film. I wish I could, mate. I found it decent but a tad underwhelming. But, given your pet hates about the franchise at present, there may be little for you to take from this film. Where are you anyway? 3pm showing? It's gone 9pm now. Hope you didn't take it too hard, mate. ;) |

| I'm told there were massive queues for SKYFALL outside my local fleapit, where it's apparently being screened every half hour. This is very, very unusual.
It's all pretty stunning, really. Of course, Bond has always been extremely popular, especially here in Britain, but the frenzy over SKYFALL seems unprecedented. I don't think even CASINO ROYALE, with its unique-for-the-series-at-the-time rave reception by critics and the curiosity value of a new actor as 007, managed to unleash this kind of Bondmania. I mean, you'd think that the new Christopher Nolan Batman film had just opened. Oh, wait.... ;)
Seriously, though, it's great that SKYFALL seems such a massive success. |

Yep, there were queues at my local as well, I almost ended up not seeing it. I turned up to go to the 3pm screening, but was told it had sold out. I then asked about the 3.30, but that had sold out as well. He then said that the 4pm showing had sold out as well, until he checked to see if I only wanted one ticket. There was one ticket left for the 4pm showing, so I took it. Couldn't have gone any later than that, due to other commitments, and I'm working all weekend and into next week. This film will be huge if opening day on a weekday afternoon was anything to go by. |

| Local cinema was booked solid for Friday from the week before, and you can only book a week in advance. The showing we went to, which was the second of the day, was booked solid. No empty seats. Ushers were going around directing people to every spare seat. A full spectrum of ages, but none younger than about 17 that I saw. We tried to book to see it again, but it's booked solid for the rest of this week as well, so we will have to wait or travel a round trip of 70 miles to see it somewhere else - always assuming they aren't booked solid as well. |

| Saw it the BFI Imax. It was a full house, but because of the huge size and steep seating, everyone was focused on the screen. Except for the man next to me who was getting a blow job from his girlfriend. |

And I thought people who won't shut up, eat noisy food and fiddle with their mobiles were the biggest irritants in the cinema. Should've complained and had them thrown out, Sharky ... bloody animals. |

| UK Box Office Thread: Skyfall likely £16m ($25.6m) 2nd weekend (-20%) for £53m ($85m) total!!
An 80% holdover in weekend #2 is enormous.
Expect a huge opening in Germany too.... |
