Non-Bond songs that sound like Bond songs

I imagine its position would have been down to its association with BATMAN FOREVER. And also because U2 were right at the heigh of their powers in the mid-90s. Their name practically guaranteed the popularity of any song they released.

I think a large part of the dislike for the song stems from its connection to the gaudy Joel Schumacher Batman films. Taken on its own, its fine ... but when you know where it comes from, its off-putting.

Scott Walker's 'Sleeperwalkers Woman' from Climate of Hunter always sounded Bondian to my ears.

This may be too obvious but what about secret agent man by Johnny Rivers?

WORLD OUTSIDE still sounds like a PERFECT Bond theme.

It's currently being used to promote the Barossa Valley in South Australia (which is weird, because it's a song about Satan), but between the unusual instrumental arrangement, Cave's bitter non-singing and the moody lyrics, I get a real Bond vibe out of it.

As a QOTSA/Homme fan you should be familiar with Cave and that particular song. Hint: Humbug.

Given your extreme standards, a "meh" reaction must mean it's good.

I never said "meh." It's a good song. I also recommend the rest of LET LOVE IN.

I Spy is one of Pulp's best, though TIHH is more how I'd like a Bond theme to sound than anything - since Adele/Epworth's Skyfall mined similar harmonic territory to I Spy. I find the starkness of those Em9 brass bursts, Candida's one finger piano and the roomy drums more interesting -- but that's besides the point -- what makes I Spy are Cocker's lyrics.

I guess now's a good time to post their submission for TND.

Ever since I first heard this song play on the radio, I thought it sounded like the menu music of the Wii remake of Goldeneye. The menu music is the only thing I remember from that game.
