Would you wear a t-shirt like this?

Over the Christmas season we ordered several dozen of these types from Mob Inc and sold them in the bar...I used to model like this so it's no big deal for me and I kept one to sleep in...

Or do you prefer to order from GQ? :face:

I am not sure I would like to be seen wearing such a t-shirt. Not today or ever before.

That shirt looks good for spreading words of wisdom, though.

As someone who bathes daily, no, I would never be seen in a t-shirt with writing or naked women on it.

I imagine that Control and Vesper's bucket lists look something like this:

1. Be important enough that when I die, it is reported on national news.
2. Buy the apartment across the street.
3. Install zip line.
4. Have the militant pro-feminist movement burn an effigy of me at one of their rallies.
5. Visit every IKEA store.

Looks like a pretty douchey shirt.

Well, it depends why they were burning an effigy of me. If I had, say, set the women's rights movement back 700 years then yes, I'd consider it an achievement. If I had merely riled up the humourless I'd be pretty devastated with myself.

Sure, it's an attempt at writing like Fleming, but it fails because it's pretentious. The whole "I take the novel approach of living in the moment" line is the kind of crap I'd expect from a first-year philosophy student who thinks he knows more about the way the world works than he actually does. I have quite literally walked in on a group of hipsters sitting around discussing Satre's Nausea and using a phrase that was remarkably similar.

Vesper's post falls right in line with what Fleming wrote in LIVE AND LET DIE, when Bond is on the plane to Jamaica.

And you don't think Fleming's Bond novels were at all pretentious or snobbish?

I don't know where this Fleming thing is coming from. I haven't read a Fleming novel or biography in seven years.

I know threads commonly 'derail', but going from 'Would you wear this t-shirt?' to the level of pretentiousness in Fleming is one I really didn't see coming.
