By extension it is a threesome. You're putting your man-beef inside the same love-taco that your friend did; it's like your hoo-has are touching each other because they're penetrating and bumping up against the same walls of the same love cave, even if they're separated by time and space. I remember back in the 80's the AIDS activists used to tell us that you're having sex with every person your partner ever had sex with, and I think there's a kernel of truth to it.

Yes, why not? If your mate doesn't want him/her or he/she doesn't want your mate, why not?

There are some exception like if she cheated on him ( I would not want to add to that even after the fact) or more importantly if he is really heartbroken about the break up (I would wait quite some time if ever).

The "day or two" rule applies to necrophilia. If the ex is still alive it is customary where I live to wait a while longer.

Sounds like you are deftly handling the situation. But the prime rule always applies, even in rebound situations, make the woman come to you. ie just be so damn reasonable and stoic, that she feels drawn to give the green light. Then you simply "go." They always know when you are interested so you don't need to push that.

Bang her. If you turn out to be a rebound, that's okay.... you already got laid.
