PostSubject: A new or re-organised moderator list/moderator groups?   A new or re-organised moderator list/moderator groups? EmptyMon Jun 10, 2013 11:10 am

Just so we know who's fully on board and who isn't. No point having mods here who seldom visit the forums or whose loyalties lie elsewhere. Also, if there are great members here who are willing to contribute heavily, then some changing of the guards may be called for. Basically, we just want these forums being run by people who want to run it and will make good on that pledge.

I'd like input from all existing mods in this topic, because I need to know who's up for their job and who isn't.

Hilly, Python, FieldsMan and me are the only active mods, for better or worse. All others are MINO (Mods In Name Only).

Best to strip those who have done nothing for a while. I'd say one more mod in the event of something happening in the near future but I'd imagine this is a pointless suggestion.

Tux - No interest in mod discussion
Gravity's Silhouette - Left in outrage
Perligau Khan - Defected to MI6
tiffanywint - Ditto
Louis Armstrong - AWOL

With four global mods left, there's also no need for sectional mods.

These are:

FourDot
Lazenby.
colly
Jack Wade
HJackson
Blunt Instrument
Satorious
Fairbairn-Sykes
Moore
danslittlefinger

Yeah. I don't know that I've ever used my section mod powers more than twice.

I agree with this. No point in having so many moderators. And, in my case, it's always been in name only since there's nothing to actually do in the Fan forum...posts are rare there. I like the idea of four or five main mods. If the need for more arises in the future, then it can be increased. But for now, I think what we have is quite excessive.

The site only needed three mods throughout its entire run. That's how it started and that's how it should have always been, though Hilly and Shark made fine additions.

I suppose that those absentee moderators that seem to have defected to sites elsewhere will have their moderator status revoked by the end of June and the forum relaunch? It only seems right to cut out the deadwood, so to speak. Plus, this place could not do without Largo's Shark as a moderator.

Anybody who hasn't modded here for months and makes no contact before July to inform me of their position on the matter will of course not be a mod for any relaunch, the very fact of their near-zero presence on the boards would be as good as admitting they don't want to be a mod. Sharky, Hilly, Tux, Python and Fieldsman are set in stone as mods, and I'm open to the idea of Control resuming as one. The others need to state their case and let me know if they're committed or not.

The sectional mod situation will be sorted out in due course as well, once discussions have taken place with those concerned.

This seems a very sensible policy, M. I'm glad to hear it.

All it would take is for Tux to post in one of these 're-branding/organizing B&B' threads or The War Room, offering his two cents, and I'll stop being on his case about it.

Yep, I'd much prefer Tux's opinion now as opposed to his potential dissatisfaction once changes are in place.

That's not going to happen unless you dress up in Star Fleet uniform.

M, if you appoint any more mods, please approach one of the remaining women first. Salome, Rave or Santa have all shown themselves to have a damn sight more sense than any of us.

Santa isn't here enough. I nominate Rave.

But yeah, B&B's oestrogen quotient should be higher.

Yes, but is Rave going to dress up in crotchless knickers with her Star Fleet uniform? Santa will if you ask nicely.
