I could write a diatribe on how I love THE SIMPSONS and how I've religiously watched it for 10-15 years, but I wont. I just think a thread for all the hilarious moments we can find on youtube is sufficient.
Like these 3 McBain ones:
"Ice to see you!"
and this classic Flanders gag:

Gotta love THE SIMPSONS.
I'm pleased that this season has marked an uptick in quality for the show. Good stuff.

Watched it a LOT in the 90's. New episodes, nightly reruns. I even picked up the first three seasons on DVD. Now I have no interest. :silent:
But there were plenty of brilliant moments in it's prime.

They really had something great going on a few years in. From the 3rd or 4th series until the 2000s or so. Then... not so much. I don't watch it at all anymore.
Besides, Futurama's 3rd, 4th, and 5th seasons ended up superseding it in my affections anyway. Not that I've watched new Futurama either.
Still...

OK, maybe new episodes aren't as 'appointment-to-view' as they once were ... but as my avvy may indicate, I still think the show is one of the best reasons to own a television during the last 20 years. First time I saw 'King Size Homer' (still probably my favourite ever episode), I could barely breathe for laughing.

I have to admit I haven't seen much of the Simpsons in the past 7-8 years. I always felt like their heyday was in the mid to late 90s. I'm not saying that there haven't been good episodes since then, but a disproportionate number of their classics were produced within that time frame.
I do hold the Simpsons in higher regard than the handful of rip-off shows we have gotten since then.
