A new poster for Spike Lee's remake of Chan-Wook Park's controversial film:

Not a good poster, if you ask me. There's nothing particularly striking or interesting about it, while the way Brolin poses in the trunk makes the film look like a lighthearted, rather zany action movie - it wouldn't be out of place on an Indiana Jones- or NATIONAL TREASURE-type poster.

Seems like a particularly pointless remake.
I wouldn't know how to detach that story from the South Korean setting without losing much of its uniqueness.

Can't say I'm impressed.

Looks like a surprisingly slavish retread of the original (although, curiously, Brolin is imprisoned for twenty years in this one while Choi Min-sik served a mere fifteen) with none of the flair.

Could still work okay as a film, of course, but it does seem one of the most unnecessary remakes since George Sluzier had a second go at THE VANISHING.
