FWIW, the anti-intellectualism I was referring to was directed more at the fine arts, which holds the most significance for me as a composer. You're right, most self-proclaimed cognoscenti like Greer are up their own arses, but that isn't a good enough reason to distrust all intellectuals - most of which are fairly humble and avoid public wankery on Question Time and Radio 4.

I just don't think siphoning money from mommy and daddy at age 23 is responsible and doesn't indicate that one is self-sufficient.

Functioning on your own and not relying on parents, a woman/partner is a step forward to being a man, in my opinion.



You also have to have sex with a MILF or cougar. That's a requirement.

With the current crisis it seems to be a lot harder to leave the parental home due to the lack of work which currently excists.
The age of 23 I expect to still be paying for my girls college/university education so I do not see why that would be considered a lack of self-sufficienty, I rather have them finish their degrees when i fullfill my "Parental duties" the have them work so much to pay for the education that they lack the time to study.
