“On your current passport, you are named as Mr Roger Moore, but you want it in the name of Sir Roger Moore,” the bureaucrat told him.

“Yes, I’ve been knighted in the meantime,” replied the former James Bond star.

“Do you have any proof of that?”

“Proof?!” Sir Roger seethed through clenched teeth “What would you like? A letter from the Queen?”

If only he was asked: "Aren't you the famous Simon Templar?"



Ah, proof the bureaucratic mentality is the one constant in the universe.

I would have thought the British passport office had protocol to deal with knighted holders...surely Sir Rog can't be the first.

Either that or someone needs to be disciplined or fired.

This situation demanded a karate chop and a raised eyebrow.
