Back in 2005 when Casino Royale was first announced I had fears that after DAD it would be a horrible adaption and completely butcher it. Plus I always had a fascination with old time radio, so it seemed like the perfect fit. So I put together an audio drama which is a pretty straight adaptation of Fleming's novel. 7 years later, I confess, it's very wordy. Too many passages are taken from the novel for the narration and it kills the flow at times. There are definitely things I would do differently if I was making it now.

With that said, I still think 7 years later it holds up pretty well considering I had no clue what I was doing. I'm amazed I worked on this from 2005-2008 until it was completed. I still can't believe we had someone write a theme song. If I had known what I was doing it would have been a much more efficient process, I'm sure!

My only regret? Not doing a sequel. I tried twice to get another off the ground, but life was too crazy and it never worked. After two years of failures, I decided it was time to move onto original productions. So I do regret that as I think another one might have been great fun.

I feel like 7 years later, it might just be too far along to come up with another one. But who knows? With a new Bond film coming out, people would be interested in it. If it gets an interest here, I might give it another whirl.

What a heavy dose of nostalgia this is. I remember my younger self trying for the role of Bond, but failing to meet deadlines. Still feel bad about that. How times have changed.

I remember submitting some shitty audition clips.

This is a good idea, though. I love the radio and radio programs.

Maybe an original, short story would be sufficient now?

I'd totally help out. A lot of us our older now, so it wouldn't sound like a poor man's John Hughes adaptation.

Hahaha. The problem lay in my lack of production knowledge. I wanted to do films, but I could never get the cast so I turned the radio. Unfortunately, I started without a complete script. Production and recording was done randomly.

Now that I actually know what I am doing, I'd love to do another one. Probably not a full adaptation. At least not right now. But I'd definitely be up for a short one: whether it be an original, based of a Fleming story, or anything like that. Even a small series of brief scenes would be fun.

I remember we came up with and completed one that followed Casino Royale and would transition into Live and Let Die. In the book there is a character who is mentioned working, I think, with Gettler or something to that effect and we had Bond track him down and kill him. It was recorded and finished, but never released. Why, I don't know. I don't know where my copy of it is.

But I would love to do another. And if anybody is interested in help make it or write it, I'd love to collaborate. Let me know!

Hilly's done Bond fan fiction. Maybe he'd be willing to put together a short story for a radio project.
