PostSubject: Colly's fan Art   Thu Mar 31, 2011 12:15 am

Evening all,

Seeing as I've been dabbling a bit with these new effects I downloaded for my paint program, I might occasionally dabble in some art. Like this one I made tonight:

thinking the top right might be lacking space, I also made one with an added advertising slogan:

For added tackiness. ;)

EDIT - and then a third one:

with a 007 in it. And I forgot to resize it. laugh

Good work, colly :D

Can you post links to your other fan art that we lost when the mi6forums.com died, please? I'm curious to see your Gregory Peck/Jean Simmons Casino Royale poster again.

I tried adding in some more images - got way too cluttered. And on the topic of the Piz Gloria girls - they're hardly major characters and pictures of them from their actual bond appearances are really hard to find; twas hard enough to find a good Telly Savalas image where he's not Kojak-ing it up.

And for PKK...

I'm pleased someone enjoys my images, so thanks for the avatarial compliment - and if you fellas can find some decent images of the lasses from Piz Gloria, I'll see what I can do.

Thanks, colly. Have you seen "The Big Country"(1958)? Peck & Miss Simmons make one of my favorite movie couples.

I'll have to see what i can possibly cook up.

First, a more ethereal kind of OHMSS poster:

Then today I was watching DOCTOR AT SEA on TV - and if we'd had Bond films in the 50s, I'd have loved to see something with that sort of feel. Fun/funny without being too over the top, bit of British charm, colour and adventure about them. With Dirk Bogarde in them, naturally. So I cooked up these...

The second one satisfying Seve's need for some curves and cleavage, while enabling me to try out some superimposing - the hand around her shoulder was an improvisation to get rid of the outstrecthed arm taking up empty space - and also allowing me to explore one of my favourite themes: different bond universes. 8)

nice idea, although I don't think Tele should be smiling, IMO you need to find one of him looking deadly if your going to show the fatal car scene in the background

shouldn't the arm be around the waist?

however, much as I love Dirk, I'm not sure I see him as Bond
I think his face is too boyish

but he was pretty cool doing espionage in "The High Bright Sun"

In terms of the hand, it was easier to do it around the arm. ;) As for the Telly, that pic was a little too dark ofr the effect I had in mind, and it didnt fit for my original idea.

And as for Bogarde - it would have to be a pretty light and quaint sort of film in the DOCTOR AT SEA/IN THE HOUSE mould; so maybe not as Bond himself, but a similar 50s beast. That said, I havent seen his forays into the genre he made in the 60s, except for THE HIGH BRIGHT SUN.

Some nice work here Colly. I love the funny smiling Telly head in the ethereal OHMSS poster.

And I'd have utterly LOVED to have seen a B&W Bond film from Rank in the 50s. This is one of the reasons I love Dr No so much, as it still seems to have some creaky 40s/50s hangover vibes to it, especially the score in places.

Colly, could you make a similar poster for MR, please?

Exactly in the same style as this CR one but with this cast and crew:

Cary Grant as James Bond
Jean Simmons as Gala Brand
James Mason as Sir Hugo Drax
Joan Collins as Loelia Ponsonby
Jack Hawkins as M
Dana Wynter as Miss Moneypenny
James Garner as Felix Leiter(I know he wasn't in the MR novel but since this is fantasy fan artwork, I figure that's no big deal. Plus, Leiter wasn't in Fleming's DN novel either).

Director:
Alfred Hitchcock

Music composer:
Bernard Herrmann

Thanks,

PKK
