| Don't know about Dan Stevens… Don't think he has enough edge. Though I suppose Roger didn't really either... |

| Dan Stevens is very entertaining in The Guest. Could see him doing Bond now (if not before). |

| I only really know him from Downton Abbey. He was ok, but he didn't scream James Bond. |

And if you ever watch "The Line of Beauty" it's doubtful many would see James Bond there. Do catch The Guest if you can - does show some range. |

| I enjoyed The Guest ... kind of a knowing take on those late 80s/early 90s 'stranger in the home' horror-thrillers. Funnily enough, one of the reviews I read of it said Stevens could make for a decent Bond one day. |

Being British and looking good with your shirt off doesn't automatically mean you'd make a good Bond. He's a handsome man though. Not necessarily exactly my type, but I'm the forgiving sort. |

Being British and looking good with your shirt off doesn't automatically mean you'd make a good Bond. True. Was just mentioning something that was in tune with the discussion that had cropped up. |

| Model turned actor Pierce Brosnan has come out in favour of DJ turned actor Idris Elba as 007:

Meanwhile, Sony co-chair Amy Pascal has been sacked. |

Meanwhile, Sony co-chair Amy Pascal has been sacked. It's getting boring now. Brosnan wouldn't dare say anything else because he would be classed as racist, and what the hell does he know about Bond anyway..... Plus, Elba will be too old by the time Craig steps down. End. Of. Story! |

| Elba and Fassbender are too old already, but both would have made better Bonds than Craig, IMO, though I dare say he's the better actor of the three. (Bond is more about attitude than acting chops, I reckon.) May be boring, but there'll always be speculation about what-might-have-beens.
Perhaps the real story here is how Babs Brocolli's relationship with Sony will change now that Pascal's been fired. |

Perhaps the real story here is how Babs Brocolli's relationship with Sony will change now that Pascal's been fired. No way would Elba have been better choice than Craig as Bond. Fassbender, yes probably. I think he would have made a great Bond. I'm not sure how much power Sony have with the franchise, whether Pascal is there or not. I think the buck still stops with Babs, she'll have final say on anything Bond related. |

| They recently recanted on their control over the Spiderman franchise, releasing the character to Marvel for inclusion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So I don't think that they will push too hard to assert their vision of the Bond franchise if it doesn't align with EON. They don't have a controlling stake in the franchise, so they're really at the mercy of the producers. |

Wouldn't say Fassbender is too old… He'll probably be around 42-43 if he was to succeed Craig, which is how old Brosnan was when he started. Fassbender still looks like early 30s… Trivia: Brosnan in GE is about the same age as Craig in SF, yet Brosnan looked years younger… Maybe Fassbender would be the same. |

| I saw the Brozzer on a DVD cover for something that looked terrible the other day. He's definitely had plastic surgery - his nose and the area around his mouth looked very feminine. |

| That's likely photoshop, which everyone gets these days. I remember Dane Cook made a crack about how his left side of his face on a movie poster looked like a vagina. |

| I might suggest Fassbender as too advanced in his screen career....while the new edict is to rally in the headline actors Bond needs to be played by someone who will stick around for a few pictures....once an actor is well established that usually makes them a bit more reluctant to tie to too many pictures in advance.
tbh I'd like to think the next Bond is going to be a surprise, emerge and make their name through the role etc. |

| Here's a photo of the evil racist: The article seems to be stretching too far. Shameful journalism. His work with UNICEF negates any half-witted comment that some putz on Twitter has to share. |

| #1 Roger was the best 007 ever. Hands down. #2 Of course his comment was **racial** even if he himself doesn't see it, but that doesn't make him a racist. #3 The fact that Elba is black *should* disqualify him from ever even being considered for the role of James Bond because James Bond, fictional may he be, was not a black man. People that don't want to see Elba as Bond, such as myself, should own up to that fact and quit trying to pussy-foot around coming right out and saying it. Moore's comment about Elba not being "English-English" is precisely a way of saying Elba's blackness makes him ineligible for the role.

| And Yaphet Kotto has chimed in also… - MI6 wrote:
- "James Bond cannot be black," actor Yaphet Kotto told The Big Issue last week, whilst commenting on the perpetual rumour that Idris Elba could take over from Daniel Craig (even though he would be too old).
"Political correctness be damned, we have to stay with what is literally correct. James Bond was established by Ian Fleming as a white character and played by white actors. It’s silly. Play 003 or 006 but you cannot be 007."
He added: "A lot of people say black actors should be allowed to play everything. Don’t be ridiculous. If I say I want to play JFK I should be laughed out the room."
Kotto played Dr. Kananga in the 1973 film "Live And Let Die." |

Finally. Another actor coming out and saying the right thing. I wonder if the PC gang will now start shouting `Racist!' at old Yaphet too..... |
