I know, it is all over the news that SPECTRE has inspired a Day of the Dead parade in Mexico. The story goes as follows: naturally, the holiday has been there for a long time, but after SPECTRE had staged a parade for the holiday, it was decided to have a real parade in Mexico city.
I just have a feeling that this is unlikely. I think I have seen material on the internet which implies that there may have been parades in the US and that they have only been relocated to Mexico. But I honestly do not know. Does anyone know more about that? I would be very grateful for more information.
I mean, there are numerous reasons why it was brilliant to include the parade. The purpose of the Day of the Dead is to honour those who have passed away, so it might not be political correct to relate it to a film called "spectre", but it makes sense. And this is all about a video message sent by a dead M, Bond's personal spectre and his mission to honour the dead. That all adds up.
They wanted the reference to TB. And it just translates better on the screen when you stage a chase in a parade.
But I somehow have my doubts that they really have invented it out of nothing.
