Glad there's also a bit of love for Amalric's performance. I agree. After Silva, Craig's best Bond villain. CR is certainly not scrupulously faithful to Fleming, but despite the liberties, I rate it a cracking good film. I also love DAF, although its relationship to Fleming borders on inverse. |

| But beyond it's faithfulness (or lack of, rather), much of it becomes the antithesis of James Bond. Where CR06 strips Bond back to something that looks more like a generic action adventure, DAF amplifies and embraces the conventions to have fun with it. |

| I got the implication from your post that one can't have an opinion on the matter of whether CR is Bondian, so if one were to claim it as such they would be "wrong" if the facts don't align. |
