| It's as simple as that. I'll put up a list at some point. Can't wait 'til I can upgrade. |

| I'll play. I don't plan to go hogwild in purchases. As long as it upconverts the DVDs anyway.
Own: CHARADE
Will buy: BARRY LYNDON KISS ME DEADLY [Criterion] THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER [Criterion] ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN
These I either want to buy or may buy: 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY AMERICA LOST AND FOUND: THE BBS STORY [Criterion] (Because those bastards won't release PICTURE SHOW by itself. Might wait though, to see if they do. We shall see.) CUL-DE-SAC [Criterion] STAR TREK VI: THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTY (it has the original aspect ratio) TRUE GRIT (I own all the Coen flicks, so it's a given. And I still ain't seen this one! Won't upgrade other Coens, though.)
That's what I can think of off the top of my head. I'm interested in numerous Crtierions, like THE RED SHOES. |

| I own 3: - Gone With The Wind - Black Book - Psycho - Nine - The Social Network
Wouldn't mind getting the Bonds on Blu Ray, but I want better covers. The golden gunbarrel against the blue cases looks cheap. Not sure what else I want on blu-ray.

And lacks the Scooby Doo ending. I kinda prefer the theatrical version. One of the things I wasn't crazy about on the DVD version was the profile inserts in the mind rape scene, I thought they ruined the flow. The theatrical version is much cleaner, I was so glad they finally released it after nearly 20 years. |

| That was a great buy for me.
I'm pretty selective about my flicks in that format too. Like I always said, while I get movies like PATHS OF GLORY on blu-ray, I get movies like WAYNE'S WORLD on DVD.
I always intended on just buying the Harry Potter films on DVD. I already had 1-4 on DVD when blu-ray came out so I just wanted to keep some consistency and continue with DVD, after all they both had the same features for films 5 and 6. But now WB pulled a dick move by not giving the latest film any good treatment, instead giving all the goods to blu-ray. It's an insult to a format that has made a huge impact for the film industry.
If all studios start treating the DVD format like WB has just recently, that will pretty much convert me 100% blu just because of the poor quality alone, out of necessity. I'd probably still buy a lot of pre-2010 DVDs, but not anything further if all studios follow WB's strategy. It's like how LucasFilm release 1993 Laserdisc transfer DVDs. For a company that is all about trying to be state of the art it's baffling, but again it's all done just to make the cleaner 2004 versions look more appealing. |

| For so long, HD was something in the distance for me. Now it's here. But my TV... I have to take it back and exchange it because the sound is shit with headphones on. It's all scratchy, and nothing I try fixes it. I hope it's just this unit, and not the model itself.
This is the TV I have: http://www.amazon.com/LG-32LK450-32-Inch-1080p-HDTV/dp/B004OVEUQQ
What a pain in the ass.
The picture quality is pretty good for this price range. DVD's don't look so stellar, though. |

| So I'm looking to hook a headphone to my new HDTV, but the only audio out is an optical jack.
I think these might be the ticket.

Yeah, that'd be a treat. Hopefully they'll revamp the sound quality. I wonder how it'd be if it were set to McNeely's rerecording. I'd like to own OBSESSION, THE WAGES OF FEAR, THE LAST METRO, 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, TAXI DRIVER, and TENEBRE. |

| My list of Blus.
APOCALYPSE NOW (Three Disc Full Disclosure) BARRY LYNDON CASINO ROYALE (Two-Disc Collector's Edition) CHARADE (Criterion) A CLOCKWORK ORANGE CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON (Criterion) THE DARK KNIGHT DISTRICT 9 DR. STRANGELOVE: OR HOW I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND LOVE THE BOMB EYES WIDE SHUT (500) DAYS OF SUMMER (what can I say, I have a thing for Zooey) FULL METAL JACKET INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS INCEPTION THE KILLING (Criterion) L.A. CONFIDENTIAL MOON NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN PATHS OF GLORY (Criterion) SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD A SERIOUS MAN THE SHINING THE SOCIAL NETWORK STAR TREK (Three Disc Edition) STAR TREK I-VI (The Original Motion Picture Collection) THERE WILL BE BLOOD THE TOWN 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY WATCHMEN (Director's Cut)
Also acquired copies of CLIFFHANGER and CHILDREN OF MEN but don't plan on keeping them. I was thankful I only bought two Kubrick films on DVD (2001 and SHINING) so I only had to upgrade those two and get the rest. While I'm not a fan of all his work (EYES WIDE SHUT for example) I got them purely because I really admire Kubrick's camera work and seeing them in HD is just flat out incredible. The only Kubrick flick I do not have on blu-ray is SPARTACUS and since that really isn't really his own I skipped on that. Besides the Criterion DVD is fine as it is.
I wish I didn't have most of Hitchcock's films on DVD, I would have gone blu on all of them like I did with Kubrick. Instead I'll keep it limited to the real favorites like REAR WINDOW and if the original audio is included VERTIGO. |

I'd be down, provided we had the original tracks available for listening as well. McNeely's re-recording is in many ways superior to the original. |

| With THE DARK KNIGHT I wouldn't like the switch of ratios during the IMAX sequences. Shame they don't have that as an option. |

| Heh, had plenty of blus added since I listed what I had three years ago. Not a whole lot though, cause I've become even more selective on what I want on my shelf as the streaming service has really picked up.
For Christmas I got the Criterion set AMERICA LOST AND FOUND. I've watched the first twenty minutes of HEAD. Silly psychedelic 60s pop film, but it's fun to watch it as a cultural artifact. |
