Then the actual review: http://haphazardstuff.com/CasinoRoyale1967.html
EDIT:
Finished watching it. I only knew a portion of the production troubles, but Jesus! This DOES sound like a biopic worth making, far more interesting than the endless Hitchcock biopics being produced today. I guess Feldman should have simply saved his troubles and give Connery that million dollar paycheck afterall, or give it to EON. Now I'm interested in seeing the flick, but only to see how this clusterfuck comes off.

Time to get this thing started. I begin to take a look at the 007 films of Daniel Craig. It kicks off with one of those fun, goofy montage openings I always like to make.
The actual review of Casino Royale will be posted in subsequent parts as they're completed. If you would like any more details check out my blog entry covering how I'm planning on getting the full review up by the time Skyfall comes out and what the game plan is. http://haphazard-stuff.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-craig-reconstruction.html
I liked how he slipped in that clip of Dalton wooing a 80 year old Mae West. And the jig.

That should be made into a movie. Kinda like ANY GIVEN SUNDAY, except based around the making of a Bond film.

More like BLACK SUNDAY, with Brosnan playing the Bruce Dern part, and DCINB's Katied replacing Marthe Keller. Babs as Robert Shaw.

A fifth of Brosnan actually sounds like a real (and real cool) drink.

Just shows again how EON likes to reuse actors.
Overall, I think he pretty much sums up my feelings about CR. I never had a problem with the train scene like many do here, but there is no getting around to the dialogue being clunky during his recovery, no doubt the mark of Haggis.

He did a pretty good job balancing all the actors to shine, unlike the Oscars which sort of came off more like a Bond promotion from the 90s that focused on Brosnan, with Dalton being almost nonexistent. HS's tribute is pretty much exactly the kind I was hoping for. I thought it was a nice touch to have it move in the same formula as the films, beginning with Bond getting called in, the briefing, the gadget presentation, the women, the villain, the threat, the victory, ect. Even liked the bit where M says "old dinosaur" synced to Roger Moore smiling as he rogers Goodhead in zero G. That's class.

I enjoyed that. Probably because it manages to make a very good film look like a piece of shit.
