- In theaters today, DREAM HOUSE is (reportedly) a suspense thriller about a family that unknowingly moves into a house that holds dark mysteries within its walls. The site of grisly murders committed years earlier, the house is not happy with its new occupants. Directed by JIM SHERIDAN (IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER) from a script by DAVID LOUCKA, the stellar cast includes DANIEL CRAIG, RACHEL WEISZ and NAOMI WATTS.
Unwilling to tub-thump this film, CRAIG sat down with entertainment press in Manhattan last week to talk about the other projects he’s been working on (such as THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO and the tentatively titled BOND 23). Set to be directed by Academy Award-winner SAM MENDES, the upcoming James Bond adventure will see CRAIG sharing the screen with RALPH FIENNES, JAVIER BARDEM, JUDI DENCH and BEN WHISHAW. CRAIG admitted that, this time around, there will be some changes in his character and he’s been working with designer TOM FORD on a new look. http://www.hollywoodoutbreak.com/2011/09/30/daniel-craig-promises-changes-when-bond-resurfaces/ There's an audio clip in the link. |

| "Some changes in his character"? Will this push in the Classic Bond direction that Craig has previously been touting for James Bond? With the addition of Moneypenny into the BOND 23 equation, I'm guessing that's so. |

| Personally I want to see more of Bond the gourmet, Bond the chauvinist, and Bond the snob. I want to see more of this spirit: - Ian Fleming wrote:
- Perhaps Bond’s blatant heterosexuality is a subconscious protest against the current fashion for sexual confusion. Perhaps the violence springs from a psychosomatic rejection of Welfare wigs, teeth, and spectacles and Bond’s luxury meals are simply saying “no” to toad-in-the-hole and tele-bickies.

Those days are gone forever, over a long time ago. |

More Bond, in otherwords. |

There's an audio clip in the link. I'm assuming the use of the phrase "tub-thump" means that Craig wasn't willing to talk about or promote DREAM HOUSE. Am I understanding it correctly? I've never heard of tub-thumping other than that song by Chumbawala. Also, it's going to be a damn shock if Bardem and Fiennes aren't in this film, because it's been reported as fact for months now. No one in the press even questions it. It's like they've already filmed their scenes. |

| A new look as well, hey? It's always boggled my mind why Craig's hair was never dyed. He's had it dark in other films, Sword Of Honour for example, and even in a tuxedo-clad photoshoot when he was announced as the new Bond. Since his blonde locks were subject to criticism before filming started, why on earth didn't they do something about it? Out of spite or defiance? |

This pic? His hair is blonde in that photograph. |

I don't agree. I'd like if he grew his hair out some. Just makes Bond seem more careful and refined when it's styled like that. I think it's important that they make Craig seem refined, to balance out his rougher looks and persona. (Of course the opposite would go for Brosnan... according to Martin Campbell, that's why they gave him a mild five-o-clock shadow in GE: http://www.throng.co.nz/files/u4208/goldenEye.jpg Too bad about the foppish hair, though.) |

Let's all just stipulate that Craig looks his best with blonde, short, spiky hair. It is the dark eyes that mess that pic up really bad, but I'd rather stipulate Craig looking his best is just not good enough, period. But including Ford in the process is a good idea, the clothing in QOS was light-years ahead of CR. |

Couldn't disagree more. Tom Ford did a lousy job on QOS's clothing. They made Craig look like a scrawny rag doll. Craig needs to bulk up to compensate for his short stature, and wear looser fitting clothes. - Louis Armstrong wrote:

| It's almost it, but not quite. The quiff makes him look like Tintin. |

They need a taller actor to deal with the stature issue, but at least Ford avoids making Craig look like a tv-movie version of a gangster, which is how he looks at the end of CR in the 3piece. |

I like that look (though Sean made the best gangster, with the trilby hat and rifle in FRWL), and wish they kept it for QOS. The only thing I can criticise the suit for is the terrible shirt. It's the high collar. |

| I hope that they don't change the look too much, as I've been rather pleased with what they've done with the look of the character so far in the last two films. Inconsistencies such as the change in suits between the end of CR and the beginning of QOS are annoying and things like that can, and should, be addressed if such a situation were to arise again, but I don't think a wholesale change is needed.

| The look of Craig in CR and QOS was ok for me, no complaints. I'd rather they don't mess too much with that, like making the character look like a fat chubby steroid pig out of a Burger King and with a crewcut. Style would be the way, they don't need a NEW look for that. |

| Perhaps Bond will appear in a Trilby.
By the by, no mention of Naomie Harris in that blurb. Probably just an oversight, but one can hope. |

| I preferred Bond's style in QOS to CR. He looked more natural in his QOS suits. Craig may have looked dour and sleepless in too much of the film, but I found his slimmer weight made him look a bit taller. In any case, the key to a successfully dressed Bond is less speedos - more elegant suits. Bond is not a beach boy, and neither is he a mere civil servant. He's got to fit in with the highest layers of society, be able to seduce a sheikh's mistress or a countess. Even better, Bond should don his naval attire once again, like in YOLT, TSWLM, and TND. I want scenes in which he's not just a secret agent, but also a man of authority in his ranks.
You got that, Sam? |

It also made him less imposing. Since Craig is naturally a shortarse with a small frame, he needs all the protein shakes and weights he can get. |

That's something the cinematographers could've worked around. Judging by his latest appearances, Craig seems somewhere in the middle right now. I still think he shouldn't bulk up too much. The early Connery and Dalton had the closest physique to Fleming's tall, lean Bond. Bond should never be a rambo/Schwarz-type of hero. |
