It really is a shame that she wasted her talent, but I frankly thought this would happen sooner. Only a matter of time, as she clearly had no desire to change.

I have to admit her behaviour and lifestyle did prevent me from appreciating her music but she is no doubt a lost talent.

She wasn't to my tastes, musically, but I could appreciate the power and emotion she put into a song. It's sadly very rare these days, where singers seem to all sound the same, and then barely in tune.

The pub I was in for lunch today had Sky News on the TV with the sound muted and music playing over their sound system ... as Sky News went to their reporter outside Winehouse's home, White Lines by Grandmaster Flash began to play. Really.
