Geoff Love & His Orchestra - Big Bond Move Themes (MFP 1975)

Has anyone got this LP? I'm blown away by the bloody awesome 70s funk on display. Lots of inventive orchestration, and they're surprisingly faithful to the originals.

I've got Love's Big War Movie Themes, which is a classic of the genre. Died a few years ago, he one of the first black big band leaders in Britain, I think. Hailed from Lancashire. Close database.

1.30 onwards of On Her Majesty's Secret Service sounds like John Barry via George Martin's Live And Let Die. "Bloody awesome 70s funk" alright.

Yep, I own this on vinyl, it's quite good. Actually remember it sounding a lot better on my vinyl than it does on those YouTube clips though, but that's probably just down to the pitch.

That's probably the compression.

I had that album but a few years back ditched all my vinyl's. Geoff Love used to do a lot of these collections, his space themes had a great rednition of the UFO theme and was the only place you could find some theme tunes back then.

A 1973 arrangement of the Bond theme by Franck Pourcel. Pretty neat.
