Welcome back, Control. I remember you from the old days and that you had a blog called Vauxhall Cross.

Well, bollocks. Having spent a year of my life campaigning to get Britain out of the EU, it seems I'm expected to do it all again.

Ever since Leave’s win I’ve been watching Quislings, ideologues, cowards, the corrupt and the ignorant promote Europe’s historical contempt for democracy, decency and common law. Despite that, I never thought a second referendum was a real possibility. Hey, more fool me.

I still feel not many people will welcome another national vote so soon but what do I know? The only thing that seems certain right now is that you’re all going to have a better 2018 than I am.

I can't believe that Nigel Farage, of all people, signed off on a second EU referendum. It's beyond farcical.

A second referendum is a massive slap in the face. An utter joke.

Agree with you entirely on that score, gentlemen, but I presume this was meant for the British politics thread?

What is the point of a second referendum, exactly?
Both of the major parties are in favor of Brexit and the Liberal Democrats, the sole dissenting party didn't exactly do all that well at the last general election.

Another one to file under "Errant Nonsense". Surely they won't actually do it though?!

Supposedly it's something that is primarily a desire of the Remainer wing of the Tory party.
I can't see it happening myself.

There seems to be a lot of talk of it. Not clear if it'll ever come to anything.

Brexit was what Farage wanted, and he got it. Recently, he's taken to whinging to the Press that it's left him separated, skint and unable to walk down the street without attracting abuse.

Boo-fucking-hoo, Nige. Careful what you wish for ... best have another several pints, eh?

Taking my first holiday in four years. All those 60-hour weeks (legal in the UK) have taken their toll so it'll be wine, women and song for a few weeks, heart allowing.

Tell the buxom Kath it's safe to go back in the water. BABs is now a Safe Space.

Write something that is of interest to me and I'll comment upon it. No need to become insulting. I am not interested in a battle of the sexes debate. Period.
