The Big Bang Theory (2007-Present) 2011-05-19_Big_Bang

I've been borrowing the DVDs from a friend of mine at work lately. Just finished second season and so far I've enjoyed it. I intend to finish to catch up with the rest of the show before the Oct 13th episode with Wil Wheaton and Brent Spiner appearing.

Sheldon is definitely my favorite character of the show, he's such a dick but he's entertaining. I noticed S2 has been making great use of paring up Parsons and Cuoco because they both have great chemistry and their characters play off eachother to good effect. Leonard isn't the strongest main lead I've seen in sitcoms but he manages to hold his own unlike how Ben Savage was overshadowed by a more interesting supporting cast in Boy Meets World.

Apparently I'm one of the few fans of it here. Compared to most "anarchic" comedies out there, it's excellently written, and fairly consistent. Especially the first two or so seasons.

What do you think was the worst episode?

Can't really think of one not because I think every episode is brilliant but because of how I have been watching these episodes nonstop some of the less memorable ones tend to blur. I do remember the pilot being fairly weak on first impression and then the season got better as it found its groove with the characters.

From what little I've seen, I didn't care for it. But I'm pretty much turned off from all sitcoms these days.

a very enjoyable show about society's "nerds" that does make me laugh a lot.

I agree.

The only ongoing sitcom I find tolerable is "Community".

I still think Peep Show is painfully funny. Painful because it reminds me of too many people I know.

I also dig PARKS AND RECREATION and IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA. The latter is unfortunately on its last season, and I suspect the former will have taken things about as far as they can go after this season (which is far enough; despite a rocky start, PARKS AND REC has found its groove and is set to go down as one of the most underrated American television comedies in history, all because folks tend to think of it as an OFFICE clone, which it stopped being after its first season).

PHILLY is one I've had an interest in seeing, largely for DeVito. I heard of an episode called "Who Pooped in the Bed?"

I like Big Bang Theory well enough. Good for a laugh. Although I haven't been watching it lately.

That's what I'd always assumed about it. What's it like?

I guess you could think of PARKS AND REC from its second season on as a warmhearted ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. It's zanier and more cartoonish than THE OFFICE is. The best thing I can say about PARKS AND REC is that it has, by far, the most lovable set of characters on any TV comedy right now.

I've recently been introduced to the show and I have to say it's much funnier than I excpected. It's witty and the cast is very good.

I think I have to watch some more to form a better opinion.
