| Elfman had a nice hint of a theme. Shame it wasn't really pushed much IMHO. |

| Looks like a rehash of the Raimi movies - right down to the visual style - with a more teen-friendly actor in the lead... |

| Good quality: http://www.slashfilm.com/the-amazing-spiderman-teaser-trailer/
Yeah, honestly it doesn't seem different enough from what's come before to warrant its own existence. It seems way too serious, makes Peter way too angsty, and copies Raimi right down to the hoarsely intoned "dramatic" voice over at the end. |

| That shot from Spiderman's POV looks terrible. It's like something from a video game.
"Ready to play God?" is a stand-out piece of dialogue, though. Must've taken them a while to come up with that for the script. |

| Indeed. Besides the casting it doesn't look like it could be a major improvement. Hopefully there will be more to it than the teaser suggests, like Spidy throwing smartass quips, that's what I always felt was missing in the Raimi flicks. |

| I still think it looks more interesting than a lot of them. We'll see. At least it has better leads. |

Based on that trailer, I don't think it has more substance than the Raimi movies. And if that was all they were aiming for, why bother rebooting the series at all? |

| Well that looked way too serious.
"Ready to play God?" More like "Ready to play Mirror's Edge?"
And the logo looked like ass. Like it was for a sports shoe company. |

| The last footage look like to much on game made with CGI only. With almost 900 million for Spider-Man 3 i never understand why there whant make a reboot already. I whas very intresting to see The Lizard. Whyle i think the new actor look to much on James Franco i think i have prefer to see this new actor replace Maguire and a new directer above a new start. The only thing i like from the trailer is there tell something about his parents. For the rest i get the idea i watch a bad (Childish) Spider-man trailer in the style of Harry Potter and Half Blood Prince and The Dark Knight.
It look like some studio's loosing the copyright after 3 movies with or without leaving the directer, writer or his mean actor, because Dark Knight Rises is also the last one before reboot again. Also there be remours Jason Bourne wil not return in But a difrence is that Bourne Legacy what give me the idea for a whyle Bourne Legacy going to be in Bourne his service what look intresting and be something new. Also Bourne franchise have luck to have the same writer as directer this time. |

| Agreed, Balje. I would like this reboot if the trailer had shown them going in a different direction than the first three, but so far this isn't really justified. |

I saw that and couldn't help but wonder if they were taking nods off Twilight. Oh that hoodie shot with him all over his desk was shocking. |

| Well I told myself I wasn't going to spoil any of this movie beyond trailers from here on in, but I stumbled upon this:
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/comic-con-2011-andrew-garfield-214535
Apparently Spider-Man is "branded a criminal and hunted by police". A couple other quotes: "Parker isn't a simple nerd but has a punk and sarcastic attitude; his Spider-Man is cocky and mischievous." "Dramatic scenes with Sally Field and Sheen as Parker's aunt and uncle showed the characters aren't there simply because they were in the comic but are part of the story."
These conclusions were drawn by the article's writer after seeing some clips at Comic-Con.
Don't know if anyone else cares. The article made me a little more optimistic, though. Not that it matters, I'm seeing it regardless.
Btw I really wouldn't be surprised if they made Peter an awkward loner rather than a nerd. Perhaps his interest in science grows over the film. |

| Some parts good, some bad. "Branded a criminal and hunted by police" is GOOD -- Spidey should be anti-establishment; "cocky and mischievious" is good -- it's one of Spidey's defining traits; Parker as a sarcastic punk I'm not too happy about, and frankly I'm so far very unimpressed with Sally Fields as May. |

They didn't make him out to be very interesting, did they? 'Tell us about yourself, Peter' / 'Nothing much to say' 'What are doing here?' / 'Nothing' Ooh... I'm intrigued. |

| I see the character has been 'rebooted' in the comics, too - http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/08/03/us-spiderman-comics-idUSTRE7724G620110803 Although the comment left on the article says that becuase this happened in the 'Ultimate Spider-Man' series, it doesn't actually count. Or something. |
