Beyond MI6

I noticed that Double o' is being a wristwatch and has blocked me from contacting him via Twitter. That's all because he had to warn me once or twice on dead ol' Mi6. They must be paying him quite a bit, because he's taking his role over there far too seriously.

I'm quite disappointed about that.

I care far less about equality than truth. And the truth is that every single black Bond girl has been unpopular, and arguably a failure, although I personally rather like May Day. If there were only a couple of lousy black Bond girls, no big deal. But there have been enough to constitute a trend.

Now having said this, if part of the film is set in South Africa and Harris plays an operative or secondary villainess working there, I have no problem because such a character would be logical. If, on the other hand, Harris is shoehorned in and made to be some sort of ridiculously heroic figure (see Jinx) in typically PC fashion, it'll just be further confirmation that Micolli don't have a clue, but do have an agenda.

I wasn't. The guy's as thin-skinned and flighty as a runway model. Come to think of it, he probably is a runway model.

I imagine he'll have fun hanging out with shadowonthesun and CASINOROYALE. When he decides he wants to associate with adults again, he's more than welcome to unblock us all and send us a greeting.

Forgive me, what I remember of MI6 is hazy now.

I remember Minigeff casting doubt in a 'Yeah, RIGHT ... SURE you married a model' way which caused tension, and there were also some suggestive comments about her (not sure by who) that had Dublo threatening to come and give the 'commenter' a kicking.

I liked Dublo. It's sad to hear he's turned to the Dark Side.

I killed my Facebook ID over a year ago now, and haven't looked back.

For crying out loud, can we drop this back chatting? Bitching about the past isn't getting us anywhere. We need to move on, regrow our of sense humour, and figure out how to get out of this hole. If man made it, man can fix it, and Fae will do our cooking.

It's just good that everyone here has their heads screwed on and realises the job at hand which Sharky rightly referred to. Things will be fine here if we all put in the effort, after all this place consists of at least 70 of the best 80 posters from the old MI6, with not a puppet account in sight.

FTR, I'm fine with Dublo, and always considered him a mate, and still do, as I do some of the other mods over there. The only difference being that I don't post on the same forum as him anymore, which I hope him or any of the other mods don't hold against me; it's format vs format, and I just find this format infinitely preferable to MI6's. I genuinely think there's some decent guys at MI6 who I'd like to invite over here, but I know that not everybody feels that way, plus there's probably too many put-downs of certain mods scattered throughout this site now to ever make inviting them here a reality, which is a shame.

As for all that crap with j7 over at MI6.... c'mon, Christ, the guy's not a racist. It's just an excuse for some mod muscle-flexing, and they're probably made up that good ol' j7's posted something they can all jump on so that it'll liven the place up a tiny bit for a few seconds. I actually wouldn't object to having j7 here, at least it would spare him from being treated like s*** over there. DC007 too. They're both harmless IMO, not to mention that they share quite a lot of the same opinions as many here. Plus, the site needs a bit of variety and some people who'll provoke others into posting.

DC007 is a piece of work. I sparred with him quite a bit, but would welcome him here nonetheless.

If anyone wants to contact j7wild, they can do so through Cb.n, since the guy set-up an account there in reaction to NuMI6. For DC007 you can do what I did - PM him your email address on MI6, and then invite him privately through that. I don't doubt they're still monitoring and censoring any samizdat that passes by.

Naturally a good cleanup would have to be in order, first thing of course would be deleting this thread. And I'm with you Laz, there's plenty of old MI6ers I'd love to have here - the reason why guys like SG, Dimi, Benny and the Major were promoted in the first place is because they were well liked from bringing a positive buzz round the forum, a buzz we could all use...

We certainly need that. But you're not thinking of those guys joining here (at least SG and Benny)? They've gone past the point of return.
