Why not just get an HD-Wide-Flatscreen television? The picture will be completely full, you won't have any of those "pesky" black bars at the top and bottom of your screen, and you won't actually miss any of the footage. I personally can't stand "full-screen" movies. Knowing that I was missing up to 50% of the shot annoyed me. Thankfully I have a big screen, wide, HD flat to cure all that. Khan, you're probably referring to the 1:1.85 ratio as full screen. Most films nowadays are 1:2.35, unless I;m wrong. Not a huge difference, but yes - you still have the black bars.

Nobody really knows yet.

On his site, Roger Deakins stated: "As we were shooting our primary image as 2:35 spherical we were able to use the extra image are to the top and bottom of the sensor area to accommodate the IMAX format. I had though it would compromise the framing but the IMAX image is so 'in your face' that it seems to me the audience is only really looking at the central portion, the 2:35 are we really framed for."

Therefore, EON and the distributors should base their decision on that.

I think 2.40 will be fine.

Confirmed. DVD & BluRay release is set for March in Argentina. Individual blu-ray titles are coming this year too.

The "Bond on his back" sleeve should never see the light of day. The promo shot with the Aston or the gunbarrel teaser poster should be the only DVD art being considered.

At least it's available. This is the equivalent to if the CR teaser poster was an option back in '07.

Well, at least the U.S. is getting the home video release first. That somewhat makes amends for making us wait two weeks for the film while the U.K. got to watch it first. Bond is a U.S. product and should be viewed by American audiences at the same time as everyone else, if not before. Certainly we should not be getting sloppy-seconds weeks after other, lesser, countries get it before us.

The Blu box art is nearly identical to the art posted in OP.

I must confess, though, that in retrospect, I implied the U.K. was a "lesser country", which I don't believe and wasn't what I meant. The U.K. is clearly a top-tier country. I was thinking more along the lines of African and Latin-American countries when I used the term "sloppy seconds".

Actually, I would rank Norway above the U.K. and the U.S., as the U.S. is beginning to slide into 3rd-world nation status. But I digress....back to discussing the Blu Ray!!!

The pirate sites are now taking their rips straight from the advance release original dvd and blu-ray...the one I saw earlier was spanking good.

Still have my hard copy booked so bugger off...

Fox official press message confirm the 6 March release date, the BD release wil get more then 3hr bonus material include the 14 part feature Shooting Bond, Skyfall premiere, 2 commentary tracks and trailer of the movie.

The earlier message from a dutchwebshop whas close, but the trailer from the soundtrack not going to be on it. Insteed we ge a trailer from the movie. In the mean time also the barcode whas changed and it look like the Dutch version wil no longer share with Uk whyle earlier code be simalar to Uk release. But the first 2 versions of Casino Royale and all versions of QOS also not share with Uk.

No dvd information yet. Some other messages said the dvd wil not have audiocommentary and wil only have a selection of the 14 features. The webshop said earlier it have commentary.

Nothing too surprising there. New Bonds have always gotten great treatment on Blu, extras aside.

The "In 7 days" one is epic.

I edited the subject line to accurately reflect the U.S. release date, so that there is no confusion.
