It encapsulates everything we all love in a Bond film - sex, danger and class.
Or the long shot of Paris' dress falling in TND.

| Impossible task. I'd easily have 1,000 for OHMSS, LALD, YOLT each and more.
The TB red blood shot in Largo's pool has never been fixed. They simply added in a red tint to the water on the Region 1 UE. It's still not correct, just as the film itself is improperly color timed. (As is YOLT. It's completely desaturated. Bastards.) Pop in one of the many Laserdiscs or the Special Ediiton DVD or even VHS to see what it should look like. It's a very vibrant red, especially as this was 60's Technicolor-come on people!!! |

| That is a great one, Krilencu. The whole sequence is somehow rather creepy. |

My choice is a very personal and idiosyncratic one: it is the aerial shot in DAF of the famous Dunes Casino sign looking out over the expanse of Las Vegas. IIRC, this shot takes place soon after Tiffany tells the chagrined gas station attendant that he "blew it." Found a pic. |

Indeed, I think that John Barry's music has an important role in that creepy/myseterious touch. |

Found a pic. IIRC, Barry's music accompanying that shot is haunting as hell. |

That's a great shot. It's unbelievable to see Vegas look like that, and to think that was only 40 years ago. What a great timepiece DAF is. I believe this is close to what that location looks like today: I love old Vegas. PK, if you don't mind me asking, what is your connection to the Dunes? Was it a favorite stop for you? |

| Wow. Thanks for the before-and-after, FG.
Believe it or not, I've never been to Vegas. Not in '71 and not now. But I am fascinated by mid-century aesthetics, and old Vegas (along with Palm Springs) was the heartbeat of that style. The architecture, the signage, the music, the entire atmosphere--old Vegas had it in spades (so to speak).
And you're absolutely right about DAF...it is a magical timepiece. That is why, despite its very real flaws, it remains one of my favorite Bonds. |

| I too have a fondness for mid-century design. Palm Springs still has a lot of the mid-century motels preserved--definitely worth a visit. I believe it was the place where the film stars of the day and people like Sinatra would visit to get away. The Elrod House is a great example of this and is located in the Palm Springs area. Sadly a lot of old Vegas is gone, each year it seems another classic building is demolished. Fremont Street, fortunately however is stil mostly intact (the scene of the car chase from DAF). Oh, and you can still play the water pistol game at Circus Circus if you're so inclined. You can find a lot of home video driving footage of Vegas on youtube. Here's a really neat one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR87cv7EEHc&feature=related Sorry, rambling off topic... |

| Pretty sure the House of Slumber as well as WW Techtronics still exist. The former, I believe, is now The Palms Mortuary in Henderson, while the latter is Pabco Gypsum somewhere out in the sticks.
I would love to visit Palm Springs and intend to do so someday. Unfortunately, it's hard to get to unless you're willing to pay a fortune to fly into the city. |

| Flying into McCarran airport in Vegas isn't so bad. Depending how close you are and the time of the year, you can usually get pretty cheap flights into Vegas. Palm Springs you can get to flying into Riverside's airport, which is only about an hour or less away (though I'm pretty sure there's an aiport in Palm Springs too). Or if you are really adventurous, it's a really nice drive through that area through the American southwestern desert (Joshua Tree is also right around there). Anyhow both are great places, and are classic American spots on the map. Hope you get a chance to visit sometime!
Speaking of McCarran airport, you could hide a diamond filled stuffed animal in a locker while your there. |

| Why does everyone love the Lazenby ice slide? In my opinion it's sort of unnecessary. If anything, he just gave the SPECTRE guards an easier target to hit. I've never thought it was that cool. |

| You'll find plenty of Bond fans who think Lazenby is the second coming. I don't think it's a bad bit, but I don't think its great either. |
