Man of Steel ::: 14 June, 2013

Despite my gripes with the color palate/suit, I am hoping Snyder delivers something interesting, assuming he's working with a solid script. SUCKER PUNCH had moments of good visual storytelling but the script was AWFUL. I haven't seen 300 since it came out in theaters. And that OWL flick, never saw it but Sharky apparently loved it. Not sure what to make of that.

Yeah, the script is what things seem to hinge on for me. And of course it's written solely by Goyer. *wince*

I thought Jonah Nolan had a part in it?

EDIT: The screencredits seem vague. Several sites either say Jonah is credited alongside Goyer and Kurt Johnstad, while others say it's just Goyer.

I just found out Jor-El will be played by Russel Crowe... :shock:

I'm not sure which has me more puzzled, the fact that I somehow missed that news bit or that Russel Crowe is Jor-El.

Yeah I had heard Jonah Nolan and Goyer, which gave me hope. And also that Chris Nolan was shepherding the whole thing and approving the script, and that it was Chris Nolan who picked Snyder to direct.

This is one film which will actually be improved in 30 years time if George Lucas sticks a giant f*cking "NOOOOOO!!!!!!" into the sound mix.... at the very moment that f*cking joke of a suit is revealed. Why the f*ck they let Nolan get involved in Supes is beyond me, or Snyder for that matter, having seen that bloody suit. As bad and boring as all of this "dark" sh*t is, it's more just how predictable this approach is. FFS, can't we just have one superhero not following the same tired f*cking path?

Did you know that I at first thought it was Michael Sheen playing Zod? I was quite dismayed.

Superman has recently been revamped in the new Action Comics....he wears a t-shirt and jeans with the cape...fucking thing SOLD OUT...DC Comics is boss... :face:

Would be consistent with the Reeve flicks having Marlboro product placement.

'Respect the canon' says Snyder, whilst happily including a version of the Supes costume in his movie that does anything but.

I can't tell if Russell Crowe is on Krypton or IS Krypton. The man is massive; he's huge; he's a planetoid!!!

Clearly he's taking the challenge of following in Marlon Brando's footsteps very seriously. He can stop gaining weight; he's sold me.

I still can't believe WB is spending 200+ million to make a new Superman film when a decent sequel to SUPERMAN RETURNS was all that was needed to get the series back on track. They're going to spend $300 million in order to earn about 10 dollars.
