Great example of reverse polarity. The song's in C major, yet the opening chord progression is A-E-C-Bb-G (or III-VI-I-VII-V). What should be minor (Am and Em) or diminished (Bo) chords are turned into major chords.
Interesting to note: the VII-V is one of those 60s progressions that's fallen out of fashion in pop.
