I *think* this is from Japan (not sure, honestly). Japan has the best Duran Duran material on both vinyl and CD...so I grabbed this Dido 2cd, it looks just as good. The official "western" Dido greatest hits does not have Don't Think Of Me....which made me discover Dido in the first place back in late 1999 so I felt really cheated there. Thankfully this compilation does deliver.

Lots and lots of naughty memories to her music. I kinda discovered myself.

That's actually quite sweet.

I also came upon my now 20 year old ( ) copy of Dead Man Ray's "Berchem", which was a major blast from the past. My main takeaway is that "Berchem" must literally be one of the least Rock&Roll album names ever.

This remains my favourite "everyone else" 80s track (ie excluding Duran Duran). It became the soundtrack of my first break-up. An exclusive British Top 40 hit....

William Friedkin was quite taken with Wang Chung and directed a few pop promos in the 1980s. If you like Dario Argento and Freud, Friedkin's clip for Self Control is one of the best.

I think that song is a masterwork and that their TLADILA soundtrack is not only their best album but one of the all time great soundtracks. I was always sad that afterwards they went in a different direction.

When I was attending university, the Dewaele brothers (the pair behind this remix) would have frequent DJ sets at some of the places I frequented at the time.
