James Bond star Javier Bardem has been told to stop smoking on set as film bosses are worried that it could go up in flames.

The Spanish-born actor plays the role of Silva in the new blockbuster Skyfall.

Some of the filming for the movie is taking place at a replica country house in Surrey, which is predominantly made of wood and plaster and took months to construct.

The Sun reported that despite the fact there are plans to blow the building up as part of the plot, directors do not want to see it go up in smoke any sooner.

'Javier loves his cigarettes and is always smoking on set to pass the time. The Skyfall lodge has been built in a field with some pretty dry grass, though. It wouldn't take much for one of his butts to catch alight. They've had word with him and he keeps well away now when on a smoke break,' a source told the newspaper.

So much for some fans' hopes that Craig's Bond will light up for the cameras.

Not smoking is very Flamming-esque.

Nobody's telling him to quit smoking.

They should, though. Smokng is for racist, sexist, homophobic throwbacks who want to wind the clock back to the 1950's.

I think they should extend the warning on the packet

"WARNING : may cause film sets to combust!"

He'll probably look very angry in the Skyfall scenes in the film.

If he burns the fake Lodge down, they can use the fire footage in the film.
