Usually moody DANIEL CRAIG burst into a grin as he swapped his tuxedo for shorts and flip-flops on the set of the latest 007 movie.

He’s shooting scenes on a yacht in Turkey and was snapped having a nose round the boat in his leisure gear.

Bond girl and co-star BERENICE MARLOHE wore a purple hairnet to keep her locks in place during breaks from filming.

Daniel was back in his posh dinner suit later on in the day, which must have been tough in the heat.

The actor admits he “camps it up” in Skyfall thanks to an effort to put more comedy into the movie by director SAM MENDES.

Must mean there’s a secret Speedos scene...

Well, you know, this might be best. This is just my reading of the current state of things in EON, but it seems to me that MGW and Babs have had a working relationship since Cubby died that hasn't benefitted the series or each other. MGW has been the public face of EON, happily giving interviews and public appearances. He's also been intimately involved in every Bond film since FYEO and roles in making earlier films as well. Babs has been very reluctant to give interviews until very recently. She seems to be supplanting MGW as the public face of EON, and I regard that as a good thing . . . :affraid: . . . no really, I do. Here's why:

This may just be me, but I look at MGW as being exhausted because for the last 15 years or so he wakes up in the morning and thinks, "Better get down to the studio and see what bullshit my step-sister is trying today." MGW has experience running a mammoth movie franchise. Babs had a few sinecure jobs before being given co-ownership of the greatest franchise in movie history. She hasn't had to do the grunt work (MGW does or did that), she's been able to persue her pet causes.

Now, if MGW on this film is producing in the sort of hands-off way Cubby did on LTK, that throws the onus on Babs. And I regard this as good because 1. Babs will have to do the nitty-gritty herself and 2. She'll be the one who has to take the flak for any creative decisions in the series that flop. I see one of two good solutions coming of this. Either Babs will start taking on responsibility and becoming a more serious leader (as her father was), or she will be unable to cope on her own and will pass the series into others' hands. In the first case, we get Babs spending much less time on nonsense since she has more important daily chores to handle than putting Craig in a wig. In the second case, the series in placed in the hands of real, honest to goodness producers, not someone whose inherited something they've so far shown no ability to cope with.

All Babs had to do was arrange a casting couch session with Dan Craig and Henry Cavill.

I never really bought into that "Babs is really in control, MGW is locked in the dungeon" stuff a lot of folks here believe. A lot of his influences that began in the 80s are still there especially the emphasis on Bond being more of a vulnerable character (which really didn't go full force until Dalton, I actually consider that the beginning of the Modern Bond era).

I remember when GE was in production the most visible contribution Babs made was to object, vehemently, to Bond being disabled by Trevalyan with a tranquilizer dart. In her view, this wasn't tough enough for Bond. Nevermind that Bond has traditionally been subdued by his enemies by being hit on the back of the head (OP), poisoned (TLD) or tranquilized (GF) to name the examples I can think of right now. Even in 1995 Babs' objections came across as weird, as if she needed Bond to fulfill the same sort of place in her psyche as Fabio did on the covers of all those 90s romance novel covers. No wonder Nu-Bond is made to run through drywall like he's Kool Aid Man . . .

I've never understood the objections to this scene. Drywall, while solid, isn't exactly brick. You could easily do exactly what Bond did without much difficulty; the only potential problem would be in encountering a wooden frame behind the drywall.

And given the situation - the very nimble Mollaka leaping through a tiny hole in the wall above head height - what else was Bond supposed to do? Find another exit and lose his mark?

It's about what it symbolises. Read between the plaster.

It's a harmless gag as far as I'm concerned.

I found the moment to be quite dark and gritty.
