| So 2011 wraps up in a couple of days. (Good riddance in my view)
What does everyone have have planned for New Years?
Feel free to include any resolutions you're making, any predictions your prophesising, any declarations etc etc.
Bring on the end of days!

| Nice little pub with my oldest friend and with a live band playing ... it's a couple of miles out of Belfast city centre, so getting a taxi home from it shouldn't be too much bother (it certainly hasn't been when we've been there on previous NYEs).
Was in the house on my own last New Year's, and hated it ... first time I hadn't either been at a bar or at a house party since the early 90s, and the feeling of loneliness just after midnight was shit. Couldn't even get anyone to answer their mobiles. So am glad to be out for it again this time :) . |

| I really don't know. Our favorite French restaurant, where we've traditionally celebrated New Year's Eve, went belly up in 2011. We haven't really discussed our plans. |

| Dunno yet. None of my friends are giving up their houses for parties and every square inch of Sydney is an alcohol-free zone. And being cooped up in a bar/club on New Years Eve doesn't seem fun.
So fuck... we'll have to wing it. |

| Hubby has to work on Old Year's Night (engineering project) which means I'll probably be watching SyFy channel, they've always got Twilight Zone marathons for New Year's...(I love that episode Probe 7, Over and Out featuring Adam Cook and Norda Eve). Think I'll be up late night whipping up some New Year's treats for when he gets back in...and for the kids. My daughter is 5 and already a rebel, she puts up a brave front wanting to stay up with me and falls asleep in my arms Later, we meet up with family... Damn, 10 years ago I'd be in the girl's loo in campus having a toke or something, motherhood and marriage have made me soft. |

| I spent the first three days of the week in Vegas, naturally I will be working the rest of the week on 12-9 shifts. Hopefully something comes up on New Years, I at least have three hours to do something. |

I feel old too, Dog Bond. We're having dinner at a friend's place and then hitting the bars afterwards, but last night I was home by 4.30... All-nighters become a bitch once you're on the wrong side of 30... :( |

Must be nice to roll out of bed and head to the store without bothering to shower or to get dressed. To the best of my knowledge, this is just typical attire and grooming for the under-30 set. Present company excepted, of course. |

Present company excepted, of course. I'm going to make a point of going to Walmart once a month without fail. That's my New Years resolution. There are some great bargains (Their Fruit of the Loom underwear 12-paks can't be beat and they've got some great cheap wine. Mathis would approve.) And there's the free entertainment provided by one's fellow shoppers. |

| I shop at Walmart on a fairly regular basis. Not so much because I love Wallyworld, but because I want to punish the other stores for their outrageously high prices. And actually, the Walmart I shop at is pretty decent. Very few hoodlums and bums hanging about. |

| From what I understand, Walmart owes some of its reputation to being a not-so-great employer. It seems a bit odd to be singled out for that "crime" when they are hardly alone in that department, I would assume. |

Walmart has some bargains but in many areas it's over-priced or same-priced. Groceries I say would be same-priced. I saw even less sales than a main stream supermarket. Dvd's and blu-rays and cd's forget it. A lot of overpricing in this department. You are better off at HMV, although Amazon and its affiliates is where the best prices are. Walmart has good deals on clothing, if you like what they are selling. Good place to buy socks and underwear. Shoes and boots too, but basic functional footwear. But if you poke around their huge stores, you are bound to find some well-priced items that you might consider buying. |

| I'm talking groceries only, tiffy. We've done price comparisons and Walmart is considerably cheaper than the other grocery options around here.
