James Bond Youtube Thread

I never rewatch the modern era so it would necessitate fresh rewatches. People keep asking for a CR track and I'm thinking oh yes it's coming...but not the one you're thinking!

Thinking of anniversaries is truly weird and makes me feel so old. I do my series rewatch once or twice a year and then one day I'll realize DAD turns 20 soon and go WHAT THE?!?!?!?

Crazy to think TND is half-way between Connery's last official Bond and now.

I remember my growing fandom coincided with TND's 10th anniversary (the film drew me into the series by constantly googling anything I could find about the movie). Almost 15 years later and the shine hasn't worn off. In fact, it glistens more.

I did it. I did a commentary for CR...the real CR. I sang its praises for an hour longer than the runtime.
It's about time somebody stood up for it. CR '67 is some kind of masterpiece.
I even used my classic phrase: "As a diehard Bond fan, a dyed in the wool Fleming and Terence Young person...I can't help but adore this madness."

This finishes my original plan to do commentaries for all 22. So if desired you can listen to me go into full NSNA detail for 3 hours...I said to heck with it and left in my Connery impressions that leaked out. Normally I quote this film regularly like the EON films in everyday life. For some reason I always call out to people saying in full Klaus Maria Brandauer mode: KOVACS!

NSNA eventually gets under your skin and charms the heck out of you in spite of its many shortcomings. The Fleming nods, older Bond, lead performances of Sean and Brandauer are fascinating. The production seemingly was nightmarish and resulted in the messy thing we know and love. I now love the title song which won me over several years ago. I've gotten used to the score as I watch this film and CR67 to conclude my twice yearly series marathon.

Doing this commentary made me realize again how many of these older Bond ideas made their way into the 90's criticism/breaking down of Bond's character in GE AND how NSNA should have followed more of the precedent John Gardner set in his early 80's Bond novels.

Looks a little wonky but I'd be interested to see the full thing like that.

I randomly googled, yesterday, Roger Moore in No Time To Die. This was the net result.

Now that's what I call a rabbit hole.
