I'm interested in seeing what they've come up with.

I'm using Google's Nexus 5 right now. I've had it for about a year and it's starting to act buggy. I'm not sure what the problem is with it, but I'll need an upgrade soon.

Are any Windows phones capable of being taken seriously yet?

Also, AT&T subscribers in the US can get Amazon's phone for 99 cents with a 24 mo. contract. Might be worth test-driving. Probably not, though.

Apples stream is crap. Doesn't work in Firefox and keeps crashing in Safari. Anyway, seems there's two models as speculated in a thousand blogs:

iPhone 6 Plus with a 5.5-inch retina display

iPhone 6 with a 4.7-inch retina display

Nothing I can see so far to make me think I should junk my iPhone 5, which has a 4-inch retina, but with the same resolution as far as I can tell.

Still stuck on my iPhone 4, though I'm thinking of switching to another brand of smartphone. A one with a better front facing camera for starters.

When you say spy system, are we talking GPS or something more insidious?

It's a nice phone, for the most part. As I mentioned, mine has been buggy lately, and I'm not sure why. I don't even download porn on it.

I like Android, but, as Ambler mentioned, it's a lot like a spy system. Whatever you search via Google, whether on your PC or mobile, your phone will automatically begin suggesting news articles and topics based on what you've searched for. It'll also recommend things to buy, based on what you've searched for. It even logs and tells you how many steps you walked each month. I like helpful, useful technology. That's taking it to another level, though, for me. Plus, Google looks through all of your emails now, so there's always that issue.

I'll probably switch back to an iPhone. Hell, I may even try out a Windows phone.

Do they read your Snapchat and Whatsapp conversations?

I've heard it argued that Jobs biggest asset was his occasionally irrational demands and wide scope of attention/interests, which allowed a behemoth like Apple to have some of the creative advantages of a start-up. The lack of true innovation since his death could perhaps be attributed to this.

Apple has never been an innovator so much as a populiser. There's an argument to be made that its best products are triumphs of design and marketing rather than technology.

It's not quite a matter of Jobs having been hands-on and more a case of him pushing the designers towards certain goals?

Anyway, I own and enjoy using my iPad but I never quite went gaga over Apple and its products.

Hope you didn't delete Helga's Baker Street interview video. I don't have my copy anymore.

I managed to update my iPad 2 to the new iOS version. Took a lot longer than any previous update. And yes, I too had to get rid of most of my video content to clear the necessary space.
Ambler, do you know what functions of the new iOS the pre-iPad 3 tablets do not support?
