Blofeld's Angels of Death vs. Drax's Lovelies

Here in the States a perennial question asked of men is "Ginger or Mary Ann?" This refers that great aesthetic conundrum of which girl from "Gilligan's Island" you'd rather bang (Lovie Howell rarely figures in to the discussion).

Along these lines, I thought we could do a Bond version of this between the bevy of beauties in OHMSS and MR. Below are pictures of all the girls I could find.

I'm casting my lot with Drax's Lovelies, largely on the strength of Irka Bochenko, who may be the sexiest Bond girl of them all, and Signora Del Mateo what just has that certain something. That said, Anouska Hempel (Aussie Girl), makes it a deucedly close-run thing!

Lois Maxwell's daughter is somewhere in Moonraker but I don't know which one.


I would go with Drax's babes with Museum girl at the top of the list.

But at the moment I'm leaning towards the Drax lovelies. The redhead for the most part and the blonde from the art gallery. They do the, er, heavy lifting.

After much deliberation, I think I'll go with the Angels of Death. From Ruby and Nancy to the American and Israeli girl, there's just something about 1960s girls. But above all, is the Scandinavian girl.

After much deliberation, I think I'll go with the Angels of Death. From Ruby and Nancy to the American and Israeli girl, there's just something about 1960s girls. But above all, is the Scandinavian girl.

Mr Osato would definitely approve.

The trouble is they're all so little developed as characters. The Angels are more iconic and have the 60's wardrobe but the Lovelies and painstakingly photographed and all have that icy demeanor and long closeups.

Each makes an impact but I don't know if I prefer one over the other.


Oh heck it's the Lovelies if only for the absolutely magical moment where the timing of Barry's Flight into Space cue matches with the girl's red hair flowing in zero gravity whilst kissing her stud farm mate.

Yes, that "come hither" is surely one of the most memorable bits of Moonraker.

Marvelous scene. Lady Devon was sultry in space.

Also the scene where Bond stumbles upon Drax's Amazonia lair and the Lovelies emerge, one-by-one as Barry's magical score wafts through the background.
