Yeah, I can understand that. Life on Mars is a better show however Ashes to Ashes certainly has its moment and really serves as just background information for why Sam went back to 1973 to begin with instead of just the audience making their own conclusions. Though to be honest I just wanted more Gene Hunt. |

| I do have the first season on dvd somewhere here, just didn't get the vibe to delve into. I'll give it a try but to be honest, not explaining everything in the last episode of LIFE ON MARS was the best thing they could do, kept the show nicely mysterious. I think THE PRISONER wouldn't have become the cult show if the last two episodes had just been ordinary escape adventures where the whole Village is destroyed. The ambiguous and relative or speculative or skeptic character of the show is what made its impact. |

What is wrong with Blackadder II and Goes Forth??? With the exception of the Miriam Margolyes episode, I find it achingly unfunny. The short answer? Ben Elton. BLACK ADDER III is much less laden with his tedious verbal gags that you can spot from a mile off ( "about as likeable as a such and such on such and such etc."), and the pairing of Atkinson and Laurie works better than the Atksinson, Richardson and Fry setup. GOES FORTH is alright I suppose, but a bit hit and miss. |

| I know this thread is a bit old, but here I go anyway:
I'm Alan Partridge Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge The Day Today Brass Eye The Simpsons The IT Crowd The Armando Iannucci Shows The Critic Futurama WWF/WWE Monday Night Raw (1993 - 2005 seasons) WWF/WWE Smackdown (2002 - 2005 seasons) Batman (1960's series) Mystery Science Theater 3000 Fawlty Towers
There's probably more, but I can't think of them. I haven't been watching that much television lately. |

| THE WIRE TWIN PEAKS STAR TREK SPACED THE PRISONER DEADWOOD CARNIVALE MAD MEN THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW DeepSpace9 (yr 3 onward) almost every year of Mi:5/Spooks FAMILY GUY (until last couple years, which have largely come a cropper)
Probably TRUE BLOOD, but need to rewatch them to be sure ... same is true for DEXTER
stuff I really like when it was on, till it ran off the rails and killed my interest in rewatching: Babylon 5 (to be honest, they lost me to some degree when casting Boxleitner. But it didn't become utterly dire till season 5.)
from memory, I used to love STARSKY & HUTCH and THE ODD COUPLE and ROOM 222 (haven't seen the latter in almost 40 years though) and MY WORLD AND WELCOME TO IT (which I haven't seen in even longer ... 43 years, I think, it was probably cancelled around the same time as STAR TREK, which would make me 8 or so.)
and a special-special is AIRWOLF, a brainless shoiw I couldn't keep from watching, from 10:45 to 10:55 each week, just to hear the music as the ship zipped around and blew up bad guys. I so wish that the Enterprise refit had had a sustained moment like that in the trek movies, where it blows the shit out of everything while cruising along to the JG theme.

| House was good, though Fux is switching off its life support three years too late.
Fanboy focus on Olivia 'wooden' Wilde caused the show to slide in Season 5 and it's been a slow descent since then.
Still, I will have fond memories of Cuddy's arse and the writers' two fingers to reality television that was S4. |
